What a lovely surprise we had this morning, on Random Acts of Kindness Day, when some little visitors from Wakoos Centre4Children arrived in reception with some roses to brighten up our day.

Some of you may recognise a new addition to our reception team in the photo. We are delighted to welcome Michelle who joined us at the end of last year. Michelle has previously worked within the veterinary world so she brings a wealth of experience to the Petworth Vet Centre team.

This is Monty, a very handsome three year old British Shorthair.

Back in September, Monty came in to us with a severe tail break, possibly having been knocked by a car.

It was decided that, to give Monty the best outcome, his tail would need to be amputated.

Monty's owner has sent us some lovely updates on his progress following his surgery and says that he is "loving being out and about again, giving the mice a hard time and, when he is not doing that, he is scampering around chasing leaves like a kitten - he does not seem to miss his tail at all!".

As you can see from the photo, Monty's fur is beginning to grow back and he looks as beautiful as ever.

We have had a cat brought in to us this morning who has been seen around the Heyshott area over the last month.

The cat is not microchipped but is wearing a flea collar (with no contact details).

We are delighted to announce that Richard Whittington will be joining the vet team at Petworth Vet Centre in September.

Richard brings his love of working in an independent, traditional veterinary practice to our team after spending many years working as Lead Vet at Arun Vets, Pulborough.

Richard is looking forward to meeting new clients and patients and hopes to see some familiar faces too.

UPDATE - OWNER HAS BEEN FOUND

GINGER CAT FOUND IN DUNCTON

A ginger cat was found in the Duncton area last night.

Sadly the cat had been hit by a car and was taken to Downlands Vets in Hilsea (Portsmouth). The cat is still alive but is not microchipped or wearing a collar so they haven't been able to locate the owner.

She was last seen on the evening of 16 May.

BEAUTIFUL PET BOWLS MADE BY LOCAL POTTER HARRIET (HKA Ceramics)

Harriet makes pet bowls and other beautiful ceramic homeware from her home studio just outside of Emsworth.

If you would like to order any personalised pet bowls you can do this via Harriet's website (https://hkaceramics.com/) and you can arrange to collect any orders from Petworth Vet Centre free of charge. When you checkout on your order you can add a note to say you'd like to collect from the surgery and then select 'pick up' from the delivery options.

We have a few bowls in stock at Petworth Vet Centre and some of them are available at lower than normal prices as they are slight seconds.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MICROCHIPPING FOR CATS

From 10 June 2024 it will be compulsory for cats to be microchipped.
