PADS (Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society) was first formed in 1985 by a concerned group of people who We are delighted to be so well supported in our local area.

Generous donations of food and bedding allow us to put our much needed funds towards utility bills, maintenance and veterinary needs. If you wish to donate to us we have donation points in Perth, at Jollyes, McCash's Country Store and Pets at Home. Please shop locally if you can! Our vet, Tay Valley Vets, Whitefriars, will also accept donations for us to collect by prior arrangement. 🎄- I can't quite bring myself to say the word but I must share these with you all!

Fiona, our retired charity chairperson, knits these gorgeous little items which are sold in The Earn Coffee Shop to raise funds for PADS.

Just off the back of her incredible Halloween creations - did I mention she made over £500 over Halloween - she's stocked the Earn with these amazing Christmas creations - new for 2025 is the reindeer design! Some are filled with Ferrero Rocher or Chocolate Oranges, there's the empty stockings to be filled by the purchaser and even wee gift bags of gravy bones for your canine's Christmas stocking.

Shaun the Sheep-dog 💙

This handsome boy was rehomed by Chris & Claire via Charlie at Mordor Gundogs. After losing their own Collie due to epilepsy Charlie suggested that Shaun might just replace the Collie shaped hole in their home, Claire told us the "mighty Shaun has fitted in so well, he is best friends with our spaniel, and is being incredibly tolerant of our cats."

These incredibly generous humans, at Charlie's suggestion, sent us a donation to celebrate super Shaun joining their family. And it was a very generous £500!!

Ozzy 🤍

Little puppy Ozzy was bought as a Bichon in the hope that he would prove to be hypoallergenic for a child in the home, sadly, the child was allergic so the family brought him to us.

Definitely not a full Bichon and likely with a terrier mix in him we were delighted to match him with a family who had recently lost both of their elderly Scottish Terriers. Ozzy didn't make it onto our website; after a few days observations and a vet check he was off with his new family less than a week after arriving with us.

We are delighted to have received this update from his new Mum:

Roxy 🩷

Roxy has been with Ian & Linda for 9 years and by our estimations she's likely 14 years of age. Ian has tried to slow her down and give her rest days while he walks their younger dog but Linda says she's spends the whole time greetin at the door waiting for her Daddy to come home and will easily walk 10 miles a day given the chance.

Here she is at the Mercedes garage in Perth, a place they walk past regularly from their home in Letham and along the River Almond.

A big thank you to Carolyn and Frank who came by today with £100 from Unite, Area 69 bikes and Aviva as well as a whole bunch of toys and gifts for the dogs from Claim staff and Unite members.

Kobe was a big fan of them and their presents which he quickly helped himself to!
