August 16th 2026 - dog agility / hoopers availability

Lindores Abbey Distillery in Newburgh are arranging a fundraiser for PADS!

More details are to follow but for now we'd love to secure a group who would be able to provide a have-a-go agility or hoopers at the event. We've tried a couple of local groups but they've no availability.

If you know of any groups who would be prepared to travel to Newburgh KY14 6HH on Sunday 16th August please tag them so we may reach out.

Atlas had a bath today and we hadn't realised there were no bath straps with our new bath so he tried climbing out a few times!

Caroline and Georgie did a fab job and now he's smelling FRESH 🚿

Teddy the Pom 🧡

Teddy the Pomeranian arrived in pretty poor condition, he'd had multiple flea infestations so was part shaved and he was also MORE THAN DOUBLE his ideal body weight!! Poor Teddy weighed a vulgar 11.4kgs on arrival - the recommended weight for his breed is around 5kg.

The matts on his body were so severe he had to be sedated to have them shaved off and then because of his obesity he couldn't breathe properly with sedation so he had to be intubated and anaesthetised! Fortunately, Teddy recovered well and we were able to start looking for a home.

Donna has been on our books are year or so, she was looking for a cat tested small breed dog to be able to live with Pebbles. She'd trialled Coco the elderly angry Shih Tzu but even for her age, she was going to eat Pebbles so she came back and went on to her fabulous few months with Evie & Yvonne in Fife.

Knowing Teddy had lived with cats, he went to live with Donna 4 weeks ago, she bought him this lovely wee stroller so he can venture further and she's already managed to get 1kg of weight off! What a star!

And Teddy and Pebbles the cat are besties so all is good in the world. 🧡🤎

Happy new life Teddy, we cannot wait to see your weight loss journey continue and look forward to getting you to that target weight 6kg!

A reminder that the level crossing will be closed to traffic on Monday for up to 9 days.

Vehicular access to the kennels will be from Perth and the A9 only, although pedestrian access may be possible from Forteviot village side.

❌ Level Crossing Closure ❌

We've just been informed that the level crossing will be closed on the 22nd of June 2026 for a period of up to nine days. I have it confirmed that it will be a full closure while BT works are carried out along the road between the crossing and the bridge over the River Earn.

Emergency access only to the kennels only during this period.

Auchterarder Primary P6

Jo stole colleague Caroline's Chihuahua Chuy for a school visit this week as he was at work with Mum and just loves children! Although even he found a full classroom of kids a lot, he's not ready to fully commit to being PADS mascot just yet!

The children learned about PADS and asked lots of super questions. Their teacher, Mrs Rollo, recently adopted a dog from PADS and so it was lovely to be able to expand on the whole relinquishment and adoption process.

Mrs Rollo gave the children a wee project to write new adverts for the dogs for our website, I've had a wee sneak peak and can't wait to share some of them next week.
