PADS (Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society) was first formed in 1985 by a concerned group of people who We are delighted to be so well supported in our local area.

Generous donations of food and bedding allow us to put our much needed funds towards utility bills, maintenance and veterinary needs. If you wish to donate to us we have donation points in Perth, at Jollyes, McCash's Country Store and Pets at Home. Please shop locally if you can! Our vet, Tay Valley Vets, Whitefriars, will also accept donations for us to collect by prior arrangement. Last big push, the incredible fundraisers have nearly met target.

If you can spare a few quid and help us make the £1000 target we'd be delighted.

Jo's feet hopefully won't be too sore and she will be able to get her wellies on on Saturday morning!

Lindores Abbey Distillery are hosting a Fire Walk to raise funds for PADS! Friends, supporters, staff and volunteers of PADS are walking on fire to help raise funds, especially vital for the increased costs of the winter ahead.

We have found ourselves in the lucky position of having too much special diet food. We know this food can be very expensive on top of ongoing vet bills and luckily not many of our dogs need a special diet so we would love to pass it on to someone who can use it in exchange for a donation. Please send us a message or email so we can check we have what you need.

Buddy - Rest in peace

We are really sorry to learn that little Buddy the Bichon died at the weekend after just 10 months in his home with Sandra. Buddy was 12 years of age when he found himself with us when his owner had died, he'd been with her two years having been adopted from Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre back in 2023.

Little Buddy was in need of a hair cut and a bath but after just a couple of weeks he went off to live with Sandra on the 30th November 2025. He's had a very lovely retirement with Sandra, he'd taken not well earlier this month and sadly never recovered, we received this sad email and photos this week, which Sandra has kindly given us permission to share:

Tyson - 3⃣ years on...

Tyson was another tricky customer, he'd been "found" straying, the same day we'd had someone on the phone asking us to take a young Beagle male! He was rehomed and returned just a few weeks later as his reactivity was just off the charts, the whole world was overwhelming for him. While here, he made pals with Hayley and they would tear about together like dafties! Like people, sometimes dogs just need to find their friends and those two, two dog reactive gobby so-n-so's just played and played and played. Never a cross word, would run the length of the yard sharing a toy, like us, the two of them just needed to find their 'people'.

Tyson found his actual people in Kaja & Daniel, before they adopted him they wanted to know as much as possible about Tyson so that they could learn how to help him cope with the world. When they first got him home he was allowed to decompress, no visitors, no long walks in busy parks, just them and him. They earned his trust, he knew they had his back and he learned to relax and even enjoy a walk.

We are delighted to share some of the last 3 years antics, Kaja told us:
Tyson is living his best life, appreciate walks off the lead, has an amazing recall, is super friendly to people, dogs and other living creatures (except birds, he still loves to chase them). He is very confident, loving and amazing dog.
Thank you for having that trust in us three years ago!
Best regards,
Kaja"

Thank you so much for putting so much into him, it seems you've gotten so much more out 🥰
