Nail Trimming

Regular nail maintenance is important for comfort, posture, and joint health. With consistency and compassionate handling, even the most nervous pups can learn that nail day isn’t so scary after all.

Turned these bears back into dogs today. Lovely to hear they’re much happier tonight with less coat to carry.

Why clip in the winter

1. To prevent matting

Wet weather + long fur = tangles. Mats can pull on the skin and cause discomfort or sores.

2. To help coats dry faster

If a dog gets soaked by rain, thick fur can stay damp for hours. A shorter coat dries faster and reduces the risk of skin infections.

3. Hygiene

Trimming around the paws, belly, and rear prevents:
• mud buildup
• urine sticking to fur

4. Skin health

Shorter hair allows better airflow and easier treatment if a dog has allergies, hot spots, or infections.

5. Indoor dogs

Dogs that spend most of their time inside heated homes don’t always need a heavy winter coat.
