Any medication or food orders will need to be in for Thursday 17th April (tomorrow) if you need them for the weekend💊

We are still open as normal on Friday 18th between 9am-7pm and on Saturday 19th between 9am-12pm💙

Some fruits are highly toxic to our dogs (grapes for example) but some can be shared with them as a tasty treat🍌🍓

⚠️ remember to remove all seeds, skins, pits and rind before feeding

* Apples are safe to give but the core and all seeds need to be removed.

Pet blood bank are a really important organisation that run donation sessions all across the UK. His donation has the possibility to save up to 4 pets lives!

In order to donate dogs need to meet the below criteria:
• fit and healthy
• Between one and eight years old
• Weigh more than 25kg
• Have a good temperament
• Have never traveled outside of the UK and Ireland
• Vaccinated or have an annual titre test after the first year booster
• Not on any medication (Can be discussed with pet blood bank)

Anxiety month introduces: Why do we recommend a vet check (featuring the lovely Red)

Have you ever called to discuss your pets anxiety and we've recommended a health check with a vet? It might seem a bit out of the blue but sometimes anxiety can be pain related!

In some anxiety cases we see that pain can contribute and can sometimes be the root cause of the anxiety. Which is why we recommend a vet check. It also means sometimes pain relief might be prescribed for what was originally thought to be a behaviour problem (or in Red's case, acupuncture)

For this lovely little soul, Reds anxiety reduced when we started treating his pain. He's currently on mixture of medical and holistic management, which has seen a massive improvement in his behaviour. He has also built up a trusting relationship with our staff by seeing the same people at each appointment (he can usually be found cuddled up with Emily)💙

As spring approaches it's important to remember that not all flowers are kind to our little fury friends🌼

Although daffodils are a lovely flower, they are toxic to cats and dogs!

The most dangerous part of daffodils are the bulbs, however, poisoning can occur from ingesting any part of the bulb, flower, leaves, stem or even from drinking the water from the vase

If you think your pet has ingested any part of the daffodil please don't hesitate to get in touch with a vet as soon as possible.

Symptoms of daffodil poisoning include:
- Drooling or slobbering
- Nausea or retching
- Lethargy or wobbling
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Rapid breathing
- Faster than normal heart rate
- Seizures
