🌟 Meet Jordan — Our New Veterinary Surgeon! 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome Jordan to the Catmose Vets team! 🐾

Jordan graduated from the University of Bristol this summer and joined us in August, so some of you may have already met her! During her studies, she spent time with us completing work experience and placements alongside Victor, Caroline, and Kim.

Her colleagues describe her as thorough, knowledgeable, and dedicated — qualities that make her a wonderful addition to our team. We’re thrilled to have her caring for our patients (and their humans!). 💚

As our numbers are increasing rapidly and our days are getting busier, please bare in mind that we don't often have a vet available to prescribe medication immediately. We ask if you could give us at least 48 hours notice, this way we can make sure we have your medication in stock and the vets have time to process your prescription.

Catmose Vets is looking for a Receptionist & Administrative Assistant to join our friendly, supportive team in Oakham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with people, is highly organised, and thrives in a busy but rewarding environment. You’ll be the welcoming face of our practice, supporting clients and their pets while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

✔️ Previous admin or reception experience (healthcare or veterinary is a bonus!)

💜 Meet Wilma, a gorgeous German Shorthaired Pointer with a very special story 💜

Earlier this summer, Wilma came to see us after a thyroid carcinoma was suspected. This is a malignant tumour, and our team carefully removed the entire tumour along with its capsule.

We’re delighted to share that after her surgery in July, she has now been given the all clear! 🎉🐾

Her owner has told us that Wilma is fully back to herself, enjoying life as if nothing ever happened — which is the best news we could hope for.

We’re so proud of this brave girl and thrilled to have been part of her journey back to full health. 💛🐶

Here at Catmose Vets, we know worry doesn’t keep office hours. That’s why we're excited to offer VidiVet, a digital vet-service which gives our clients free access to vet advice, any time of day or night.

With VidiVet, you can:

Send photos, videos or messages about your pet’s health questions

Get a personalised video response from a UK-registered vet, often in minutes

Get help deciding whether your pet needs to come in, or whether you can safely monitor at home

Use it for general advice (behaviour, diet, post-surgery recovery etc.) when you’re unsure what to do

When should you use VidiVet?

If something comes up outside our opening hours

If you notice new symptoms but aren’t sure how urgent they are

If you need reassurance or advice before making a trip to the clinic

When to call us or visit in person:

For emergencies (trauma, breathing issues, severe pain etc.)

This month marks one year since we opened our doors as an independent, family-owned practice – and what a year it has been! 💚

We feel so lucky to be surrounded by such a wonderful community – our amazing clients, their beloved pets, and our incredible team who give their all every single day.
