Less than five weeks until we’re back open for business. There’s nothing better than seeing older pets find a new lease of life when they start their treatment. If you’re pet’s starting is struggling with arthritis or other injuries and you’re looking for ways to help them alongside (or in some cases instead of) medication, then please get in touch to find out more.

I am delighted to announce that from October I will be accepting new acupuncture clients. Sessions are held in a relaxed setting at my home in Stretton, perfect for pets that want to avoid the vets. I mainly treat dogs with musculoskeletal issues ranging from osteoarthritis to acute injuries but have also treated cats and horses.

Initial consultation lasts 45 minutes and is £60. Your pet will receive a full examination and we will discuss what problems they are experiencing. During this sessions we will talk about what you can expect from acupuncture, recommended frequency and how you can expect it to help your pet. We will also discuss other ways to alleviate your pet’s symptoms.

Sessions thereafter last 30 minutes and cost £50. Each session is catered to the individual animal to maximise their response. The needles are tiny and are very well tolerated. Response varies greatly from animal to animal, some of the patients I have treated have seen such positive results that they have been able to come off pain relief altogether.

Please message me if you’re interested.

A novel therapy against chronic pain in dogs and cats was released by Zoetis in Nov last year. The therapy uses species specific anti- nerve growth factor. I have, as of yet, had no experience with using it. Limited data on its long term efficacy, safety and concurrent use with other medications exists, however so far seems positive. It’s an exciting concept, which could give hope to those animals unable to use NSAIDs or owners wanting to try something as an alternative medication to control pain.

I love seeing the improvement that owners see; Titch’s owner kindly sent me this amazing video of Titch loving life back to her old crazy ways! Considering she could barely walk when she first saw me it’s lovely to see her running flat out. She’s continuing to do great and loves her acupuncture sessions!

Stanley is enjoying his walks and play much more since starting acupuncture and his mobility is improving! His lameness is barely noticeable anymore and he is back trying his paws at agility and enjoying trips to the beach.

Titch was struggling to even walk before coming to see us and her owner was getting worried about her deteriorating quality of life. She kindly sent these fab photos of Titch running around with a renewed zest for life after just 2 acupuncture sessions! We’re over the moon she’s responded so well to treatment.

Ellie has been coming to see us for acupuncture for a couple of years now. She made her second visit to our new facilities today and trotted in quite happily. She first came to us in a lot of pain and despite trialling multiple medications, acupuncture was the only thing that really relieved her pain and it improved her quality of life dramatically. She has certainly been one of our greatest success stories and also wins the award for loudest customer, barking all the way through whilst she wags her tail and munches through treats.

Stanley is becoming one of our regulars but has had some bravery issues when it comes to leaving the house. He loves it here at Junderhund and once he can muster the courage to leave the car he struts around like he owns the place. Before COVID restricted his treatment we were seeing some improvements both in mobility and confidence. He’s now back to start over.
