Time for a bit of bragging about my eurohound lady Nyx 🩵 ☺️
Our racing season started with where we finished 2nd (only because I missed a turn) but Nyx was just perfect all the way, she pulled hard up the hills, she slowed down on the incredibly narrow path on the edge of the steep hill (with sheep everywhere), she ran by my side all the way down and sprinted with me in tow to the finish line like she had run 12k races all her life 🩵 my incredible girl 🩵

I've trained her for this from the day she came home and now we just enjoy running together like one 🩵

Now we've tasted longer distance racing we kinda want more 😁 so next one is in November

Warning: canicross has side effects.

You start because you think your dog might enjoy running.

Then somehow you realise you need a harness.
Then a belt.
Then a bungee line.
Then another harness because obviously you need more than one.

You start discussing trail conditions with people you've only just met.
You willingly get up at silly o'clock on a Sunday.
You discover that mud is no longer a reason to cancel plans.

And somewhere along the way…
.. you find your people.

That's one of our favourite things about dog-powered sports

Kinda chic I am proud of my dogs 🩷

Some dogs take the word “sprint” a little too serious 😂

You know the type.
Harness goes on.
Line clips in.

And suddenly your lovely, sensible companion has decided you're both qualifying for the Olympics.

Meanwhile, you're somewhere behind questioning your life choices.

Welcome to the Run With K9s Sprint Relays.

This isn't about finding the fastest canicross team in the country.

It's about giving your dog the chance to do what they love…

…and seeing what you've got when they decide to properly do it 😏

SHORT course or LONG course.

Run it SOLO if that's your thing...
.. or grab a teammate and share the questionable decision-making.

Fast dogs.
Steady dogs.
Big dogs.
Small dogs.

And humans doing their best to keep up.
