Yesterday marked International Cat Day 2026! We are incredibly proud to be able to care for our cat patients within out accredited Gold Feline Friendly Hospital wards and our 5* Pet Hotel. Our nurses and vets understand cats are very particular in their likes and dislikes and are always keen to ensure we keep them as stress free and comfortable as possible during their visits. We love seeing photos of your cats enjoying their time relaxing at home so pop some pics below!

Puppy and Kitten Fun at Toll Barn Vets!!!!

We believe it is essential to help you get the best start for your new family member and most importantly we believe you should be able to enjoy your new family member without having to worry about their healthcare! This is why we offer our Puppy and Kitten Clubs at Toll Barn Vets. All puppy and kitten vaccine packs include 5 weeks free insurance, flea and worming, a full health check, useful tips and information (and of course some treats!).

All our puppy and Kittens are also invited to FREE OF CHARGE clinics with our qualified nurses where you can get your new addition weighed and health checked and we can remind you of any healthcare needs such as flea and worming. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions and gives us a chance to have lots of cuddles with puppies and kittens which we hope will help them feel more confident coming to the vets in future!

If your pet has ever developed a lump you will understand how worrying it can be to wait for results.

Our digital microscope has already proved hugely valuable for our patients and means we can sample lumps in house with a small needle and receive a result from a pathologist in 2-24 hours. This is vital for critically unwell pets and gives our clients peace of mind to make informed decisions regarding their pets care.

Traditionally, in order to know whether lumps are cancerous or not then we have had to take samples with a needle and send them to a pathologist for a diagnosis. This gives excellent results but incurs a time delay which is always a worrying time for pet owners.

At Toll Barn Vets we have invested in state of the art technology which allows us to use an extremely high powered scanning microscope to digitise these samples and send them to a pathologist rather than relying on traditional postal and reporting services.

Why is this important? It vastly reduces the time delay in results meaning patients receive quicker diagnosis and treatment and owners have less time to worry. Depending on the type of lump sampled these results can be back in as little as 2 hours. The additional bonus - our commitment to offering the best care for our patients means we are able to offer this fantastic technology at a reduced cost compared to sending these samples to external laboratories 😃 To find out more give us a call on 01692 407126

This beautiful little one came to visit us when his owner noticed he had managed to eat one of the stones from the bottom of his aquarium. The stone had become lodged in the back of his mouth stopping him opening and closing his mouth properly and preventing feeding. Our team were able to delicately remove the offending stone and we are delighted to say he is now back home enjoying a stone free aquarium!

Did you know we offer acupuncture to our patients?

Based on traditional principles and supported by modern veterinary science, acupuncture involves the precise insertion of tiny needles into specific points in the body. It is used as a complementary treatment to enhance well being and alleviate pain or discomfort often reducing the reliance on pain relief medication.

By using this technique we selectively stimulate the pathways within the body to promote pain relief and reduce inflammation. It is often useful for chronic pain (osteoarthritis, spinal pain), weakness or mobility issues, neurological injuries and much more!

Each treatment is carefully tailored to each patient to ensure comfort, safety and individual needs are met - there are usually plenty of treats involved too!

We understand it can be difficult to find time for vet appointments during normal working hours and that sometimes injuries and illnesses can only become apparent after normal closing hours. These certificates mean members of our team have undergone additional extensive training in these areas which coupled with our extensive in house equipment means we can provide our patients with the high levels of care they need during their most vulnerable moments.

"I joined Toll Barn Vets a short while ago. Very impressed with the care and service. The nurses are amazing and very caring too. Receptionists are very welcoming and lovely. I've joined the VIP monthly plan which is very good value for money, we have had several extra visits covered by the plan for administering monthly medication just to get my dog used to everyone as he was very nervous in the new environment.
