Unique Exotic (including Rabbits and Guinea Pigs) Pet Care at Toll Barn Vets - Did you know our exotic pet service is unique within Norfolk?
Whilst several practices in Norfolk provide care for exotic pet species (including rabbits and guinea pigs) we are proud to be the ONLY private practice in Norfolk to have a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised Advanced Practitioner In Zoological Medicine. This award is given to veterinary surgeons with postgraduate qualifications who have proven their knowledge and skill in a particular field above and beyond that of a standard veterinary surgeon.

We are also the ONLY veterinary practice in Norfolk to hold the Rabbit Welfare Associate and Fund GOLD Rabbit Friendly Accreditation following independent assessment of skills, equipment, knowledge and services.

This means that whether you own a rabbit, guinea pig, porcupine, bird or reptile your pet has access to the highest standards of veterinary knowledge and care. These qualifications also allow us to receive referral cases from other local vets to help patients receive the best care possible without having to travel further afield.

Did you know our amazing team of vets offer evening appointments to make sure all our patients can be looked after at a time convenient for you?

We understand it can be difficult to find time for vet appointments during normal working hours and that sometimes injuries and illnesses can only become apparent after normal closing hours. PALM OIL ALERT
We have had reports of Palm Oil being washed up on beaches at Mundesley and have treated dogs who have ingested some of this palm oil. Please take care when walking your dogs on the beach and keep them on a lead if you are worried they may scavenge.
Palm oil can cause severe vomiting and intestinal obstruction if ingested so please seek veterinary advise as soon as possible if you think your dog may have ingested it.

This beautiful owl came to visit us when his owner noticed a lump above his shoulder. Following thorough investigation our team performed a delicate operation to remove the lump. He is now back home enjoying flying again without a troublesome lump getting in the way! "My Cockerpoo (Maggie) 14yrs old was taken ill whilst we were on holiday in Walcott. We took her to Toll Barn Vets at 5am where she was admitted for observation & returned home at 7pm. We had to take her back the next day when she was re-admitted for more tests & observations. The service & care here was excellent & Maggie was treated with care & love throughout her treatment & stay." S Flack

Thank you for your kind 5* review, it means a huge amount to our team. We love caring for the huge variety of species of peoples pets "Amazing vets! I take my Guinea pigs here and they are so skilled in all areas from simple problems to complex problems. All staff members are lovely and welcoming. Vets are never in a rush and will always take time to look at a pet properly. They are always so helpful when I have any concerns or questions. They are by far the best vets I have ever been to and I don’t know what I would do without them!"
