Meet Lottie, the sweet Springer Spaniel who recently found herself in a bit of a sticky (or should we say stony!) situation🪨💭

Lottie was brought in after her family noticed she wasn’t quite herself and an X-ray revealed the culprit: a stone lodged in her abdomen. This meant Lottie needed an exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap) to remove it safely🐾 Thanks to the prompt action, our skilled surgical team, and a whole lot of love, Lottie is now on the mend and back to doing what she does best, giving us those irresistible puppy-dog eyes! 🐾💕

She’s pictured here with her favourite teddy and the infamous stone (now safely in a bag and far from her curious mouth)🧸🪨

⚠️ A reminder to all pet parents: some dogs just can’t resist eating things they shouldn’t! If your pet is vomiting, off their food, or acting unusual, it’s always best to get them checked out.

We’re so proud of Lottie and wish her a smooth recovery! 💚

Hector, a handsome red Labrador, was out enjoying a walk around the dunes on Winterton beach when he was bitten by an adder🐍 Luckily, his owners brought him straight into the practice, where he received prompt treatment. We are happy to report that Hector made a full recovery!❤️‍🩹

This is a great reminder to all dog owners to be vigilant during the warmer months, as adders are the only venomous snakes native to the UK.

To help prevent bites, consider the following tips:
🐍Keep your dog on a lead in areas with long grass, moorland, or coastal dunes where adders are known to be found.
🐍Avoid walking your dog during the warmest parts of the day, as this is when adders are most active.
🐍Stick to clear, open paths rather than letting your dog roam into dense undergrowth.
🐍If you see an adder, keep your distance and keep your dog away from it.

If you suspect your dog has been bitten by an adder, stay calm and keep your dog as still as possible to prevent the venom from spreading. Carry your dog to your car if you can and head straight to your nearest vet, calling ahead to let them know you're on your way. 💚
