🐾Meet Ernie🐾

We recently had the pleasure of seeing Ernie again for his Kennel Cough Vaccination💉

It was such a joy to see what a handsome, golden Cocker Spaniel he has grown into. Ernie was also an absolute superstar during his appointment and was look after by our wonderful Registered Vet Nurse Claire💙

Kennel Cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection that is spread not just between dogs in kennels but also whilst out walking with other dogs, doggy day care, grooming salons as well as training classes.🤒

June is National Microchipping Month a great reminder to check if your pet is microchipped or if your pets microchip details are up to date!✅

A microchip is a legal requirement for dogs and cats and gives your pet the best chance of being reunited with you if they are ever lost or stolen. It's a super quick and safe procedure and lasts a lifetime🛰️

From daring dogs and curious cats to busybodied bunnies, every pet deserves the best chance to find their way home🐕🐈🐇

🚶‍♀️🎀 Well Done🎀🚶‍♀️

Congratulations to Sara, Anna, Bella, Em, Claire, Zoe, Immy and Kerry who all took part in the Race For Life at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmund's at the weekend!🎉

Whether running or walking, each of them completed the race in support of an incredible cause, raising awareness and helping to fund life-saving cancer research👩‍🔬

We are all so proud of your dedication, teamwork and determination💪

Some more of the team will also be taking part in the Cambridge Race For Life on Sunday the 21st of June, to help raise money for Cancer Research!👏

💗🐾National Best Friend Day🐾💗

Best friends don't just come in the human variety - sometimes they have four legs, a waggy tail, a gentle purr or even a pair of floppy ears🐕🐈🐇

Pets are there for us through all of life's ups and downs, they greet us with excitement after a long day at work, offer comfort when we need it most, take us out of the house for some much-needed outdoor time and fill our lives with unconditional love, loyalty and plenty of happy memories☀️

🌍World Environmental Day 2026🌍

Today on World Environmental Day, we are taking a moment to reflect on the small changes that can make a big difference in helping to protect our planet💪💚

At Lida Vets we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact whilst continuing to provide the highest standard of care for our patients♻️

For all of our hard work we have been awarded the Silver Certificate for the Investors in the Environmental Awards (IIE)🏆

Here are a few things we do at Lida Vets to reduce our environmental footprint:

♻️Recycling where possible - separating waste into the appropriate bins
🌱Reducing Waste - buying reusable materials where possible
🌬️Managing anaesthetic gases responsibly - not out into the environment
💻Going more digital - reduce paper usage and use emails where possible
💡Energy Awareness - switching off equipment after use
🕊️Encourage feeding wildlife - bird feeders outside the front of the practice

Here is how you as pet owners can get involved too:

🛍️Recycle pet food packaging - we have a bin in the practice which recycles pet food packaging
🚶Walking where possible - rather than driving short distances with your pet
♻️Use reusable containers - food, toys and accessories
💧Reduce water waste - water plants using leftover water
💩Biodegradable p**p bags - certified compostable p**p bags
🌼Wildlife friendly garden - a safe garden for hedgehogs, birds and insects

🎗️We're taking on the Race for Life🎗️

On Sunday 7th of June, the team at Lida Vets will be lacing up our walking shoes and taking part in the 10km Race for Life in Bury St Edmunds to raise for money for Cancer Research👟

Cancer affects so many lives, and we are all so proud to be doing our part to raise awareness and support such an important cause💪

Whether you are taking part, cheering from the sidelines or donating please help us to support our team by spreading the word as they take on the 10km Challenge💕

With Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month concluding on Sunday, but the principles that have run through this month do not, we wanted to show what we have been doing as part of Linnaeus here at Lida Vets to celebrate and remind our nurses of just how much we appreciate them! Over the course of the last 4 weeks, each week has had a different theme starting with compassion.🤗

Compassion to us is what keeps our patients happy and healthy even when their health may not be and we can assure that every single one of our nurses is kind and caring from the minute your pets walk in the door to the moment they leave!💕

Week two was a discussion of mental health and how we all can help our veterinary nurse's wellbeing and encourage them to open up about the day-to-day stresses of working in such a demanding but rewarding industry.💭

Empathy was the theme for week three, which was emphasised that it is not just the grand gestures but also the smaller gestures we appreciate from our nurses, from greeting your pets the moments they walk into the practice to going above and beyond in creating a warm and welcoming practice from their first to their last visit - and all the ones in between too!🐾

Lastly, we wanted to know what and why our fantastic Veterinary Nursing team love most about their jobs, because let's face it, they truly are extraordinary. Their knowledge and expertise are a genuine and deep foundation of what everything else within veterinary nursing is built on, and without passion, the level of care our wonderful nurses pout into their roles would be non-existing.💌

We would all like to say a huge THANK YOU to our brilliant nurses as without you we wouldn't be able to do what we do - and we also would love to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our clients for your kind words over the last month (and years) towards our veterinary nursing team too!🐕🐈🐇🐀🐓🐢

Meet Bentley, the adorable 11-week-old Labrador Retriever, who came in to see our Clinical Director, Ilan Lay, for his puppy vaccinations today 🐾💉

Bentley was incredibly brave and charmed everyone at the practice with his waggy tail and playful personality. Puppy vaccinations are an important step in keeping our furry friends healthy and protected as they grow.

We can’t wait to watch Bentley grow up and look forward to seeing him again soon! 🐶💙

💕🐾Sweet Stella🐾💕

This lovely 3-years-old English Springer Spaniel recently popped into the practice to see our nurse Zoe for her second vaccination and Kennel Cough Vaccination - she was an absolute superstar throughout the whole process and even enjoyed a treat (or two😉)🍬

Keeping vaccinations up to date is a simple and important way to help protect your pets against nasty diseases and keep their tails wagging!💉
