I take back everything I said about the Silkie’s 😂

Can I keep them all?…. 🥰 also if anyone can tell me if this is a hen or a cockerel I’d be very grateful 🧐

Fat Hen grows like wildfire in the pig pens and the pigs, chickens and even the sheep love it 🌱🌱

Known as Fat Hen because apparently it was used for fattening poultry 😅

💖THANK YOU💖

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely comments from customers past & present. It was a really boost for me when I needed it 😊

I’ve re-opened Reviews 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Turns out the 💩 review was from someone running several small businesses in the local area.

Not really sure what their intentions were but feel free to have a read and leave a review if you wish 🙏

⚠️ APPROACH WITH CAUTION ⚠️

Eeeeesh had a 💩 review on FB!! I mean I would also warn people to approach me with caution because if you end up with an addiction like mine you too will not have time to reply to copious amounts of time wasting messages and write mean reviews on small businesses.

Of course publicly outing my shortfalls on social media is both upsetting and frustrating but after 10+years of running a small business I have managed to develop skin similar to that of a rhinoceros so that I can brush it off and carry on 😝

This also prompts me to say a massive THANK YOU to all the lovely customers out there who keep coming back for more 🐥🐣🥚 you are much appreciated 🙏

💫 SOLD 🖤 I have a pair of stunning silkies for your consideration. Hatched late last year. Willing to split them if needed.

I was going to use these for breeding but have since decided that silkies are just not for me. I’m going to stick with my rare and traditional breeds ✌️

Ps. I have hatched quite a few silkies this year so will have younger birds coming up soon

Finding this small business tough at the moment but these Copper Black Maran Eggs sure do brighten your day 🤩

🌱🐥HUBBARD CHICKS🐥🌱

For any of my smallholding followers our next batch of day old Hubbard Chicks will be ready NEXT WEEK. Drop me a message if you would like any. These are slower growing Hubbard Chickens well suited to free ranging and will not outgrow their skeleton like some of the Ross Cob types. Taste, flavour and welfare of the birds is far superior to anything you can buy in the shops ✌️

PURE BREED VS HYBRID

Customers ask me all the time what’s the difference between the hybrids and the traditional/pure breeds…

Hybrid - not bred by me but are bred for resilience to any housing system, for high egg production (even through winter) and usually have a more docile temperament.

Pure Breed - this is my passion and they are all born and bred here at Harlequin and are seasonal! I try to keep to show standard but also hardiness and egg colour/production. Given the right living conditions my pure breeds will live for MANY years and will still lay eggs in the correct season. Their stunning looks and different egg colours and textures are a must for any back garden flock. They will have a break in egg production during seasonal moult and short daylight hours but thats normal for chickens! They generally live longer and have fewer health conditions ✌️

Any questions then give me a shout, always happy to speak to other chicken enthusiasts 😃
