Fursty Friday Episode 2 🐾
The 1 where Meadow came out to make some new Fursty Pawls 🥰🩷🐾
Most of you will know Meadow as she’s been part of the Fursty Tuesday Squad from almost the start where she comes along every week with her big bro Buddi for their walk 🐾
Buddi’s at the enjoying his retirement stage of life where he prefers to enjoy his time out with his sister rather than with others as part of a pack.
Meadow, Meadows always been more of the anxious wee sister who prefers to stay close by her brother or myself when out 🥰🐾
It’s always been a long term goal from the start for her owner & myself to eventually ease Meadow in to socialising with other Fursty’s but for everyone involved the timing had to be spot on. The last thing we wanted was to throw her in at the deep end and lose all that hard work that we’ve put in over the last year and a bit to get not only her confidence to where it is but also the bond she has with her Uncle Fursty 😊🐾
There’s been more than a couple of opportunities over the summer with a lot of Furstys on their holidogs where I felt the opportunity might be right for her but with slight doubts over the odd dog with in the group maybe attempting to be too playful with her or simply just too inquisitive and in her space too much for her liking.
Well yesterday we had the perfect opportunity to get her out with Wee Louis & Big Enzo, 2 dogs that I 💯 knew and trusted wouldn’t do any of the above 🙌
A Massive shoutout to both Fursty’s, the same 2 that helped Cleo climb the Fursty Ladder from solo walks to pack walks all that time ago for not letting the team down and at times even helping Meadow relax ☺️🐾
We kept things as routined as possible for Meadow by taking her to the same place we go every Tuesday and by giving her her same seat on the bus to help ease her anxieties 🐾 Going forward Meadow will still be out with her big brother every Tuesday but when the opportunity arises again where we feel the group will be right for her you might just see her again out with a few others 🥰🐾
Yesterday this was 1 small step but 1 big leap for Meadow but also a reminder of why I wanted to to start up Fursty Walks, not only to “walk dogs” but also to bring some joy & happiness to their lives along the way all while helping them progress with their confidence.
We’ve had so many happy stories along the way with the likes of Cleo, Hugo, Hudson, both Islas, Samson and Zion just to name a few who all needed a little help to improve their Fursty Manners when socialising with others & knowing how to fit in to a pack setting but most of them feel like a lifetime ago with how they are now so it was amazing to finish off my day yesterday with that special feeling again back in my heart 💓
Finally, well done Meadow you done amazing 🤩
I genuinely thought I’d have to keep a hold of the longline for the duration of the walk but here we are watching you do you usual Tuesday zoomies 🥰🐾
