🎃TRICK OR TREAT? NOT FOR EVERYONE! 🐾
Halloween and Bonfire Night might be exciting for us, but for some of our pets, it’s an absolutely terrifying time.
Unexpected knocks at the door, unfamiliar costumes, flashing lights, loud bangs and fireworks can turn a perfectly ordinary evening into a frightening experience.
And it’s not just dogs who struggle.
🐶 Dogs may shake, hide, bark or become distressed.
🐱 Cats can become frightened, withdraw or attempt to escape.
🐰 Rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets can be particularly vulnerable to sudden noises and disturbances.
🐴 Horses and other outdoor animals can also be seriously affected.
But here’s what we really want you to know: you don’t have to just put up with it, and neither do they.
At Vets for Pets Morpeth, we can help with:
🐾 Practical advice on creating a safe, comfortable environment.
🐾 Behavioural support and desensitisation techniques.
🐾 Calming products and pheromone support.
🐾 Prescription medication for animals who need additional help, following veterinary assessment.
🐾 Longer-term plans to help make future firework seasons less frightening.
Fear isn’t something our pets should simply have to endure.
Please don’t wait until your pet is absolutely terrified before asking for help.
Pop in, give us a call or book an appointment. We’re here to help you find the right approach for your individual pet.
