Our Louie 🩷🐶

Recall around wildlife especially birds and squirrels 🐿️🦜

The actual animal does not have to be in sight for your dog to activate hunt mode.

Here is a perfect example of that in real life one moment Louie is next to me and the next she is hunting!

That is why it is so important to have a recall that works. Done correctly it can unlock endless potential for you and your dog!

Abit about me….

Finally abit more about me if you knew it or not I’m Dominic George Swift guess where I got my name from I dare you, DGS Dog Training

Onto the more serious Dominic, the Dominic who was an assistant dog trainer for over 4 years before I even touched and trained my own EDD (explosive detection dog). But now you have 1 week courses online and you can go and touch someone’s dog who has a behavioural issue which is madness and dangerous. Imagine letting an electrician re wire your house off doing a 1 week course off the internet. 😂

I have worked with men and women who have handled and trained dogs in the harshest and most dangerous places on earth for my country and yours and that’s experience you cannot buy I don’t care how much your online course cost you,you can’t buy the value of being taught by the very best.

I my self have only been to Dubai,Slovakia and Netherlands for DogTraining but even that’s a lot more than a computer screen,classroom,TikTok or even YouTube😂.

It does not get more real life than working with explosives and explosive detection dogs.

Impulse control to me is and will be at the forefront of my training because a controlled dog is a safe dog.

Our DGS pack is going as far as we can with helping more and more owners and dogs the right way and more importantly the safe way for your dogs.

Our Cooper checking in and importantly checking in on his own. I do tell my clients and any dog owner this. WHY wouldn’t your dog want to be next to you and in fact they should want to. If they don’t it is our fault and responsibility to make that happen and to be their reward system.

No shouting
No talking
No reward
No fussing
No frantically looking

Just silence and watch the magic happen 🪄💙🐶

Leave Command on full show in the real world. 🌍 🐶

We can use commands like this in different scenarios a lot of people just use it for leaving food and toys but can be used to leave other animals too if you have trained it and used it.

Train it!
Proof it!
Use it!
Or Loose it!

Our Boy Charlie Learning loose leash walking.

I don’t except 20minutes of this from a puppy like Charlie straight away. I set realistic targets for my dogs but what I do expect is him to follow me accordingly through clear communication with my voice and body positions.

I use the term dancing as one when walking as it should not be a struggle or a fight to walk your dogs. If a dog pulls one way and we pull backwards, your dog will pull more to get away from your pulling😂

If you want to stop, stop if you want to go forwards go forwards and if you want to turn, turn.

A tug of war battle is never going to learn your dog anything.

So choose to work them,train them and most importantly be the reward system they need so they choose you not the environment.

One more thing force free dog training does not always mean treats, so to the abusers of dogs who choose negative punishment because they do not want to be labelled as force free grow up macho man and put the dogs first. Yes negative punishment is a vital part of dog training but it is most definitely not always needed. I guess some people like the power don’t they just like narcissists they like control and force by any means necessary.

April 2026….🩷💙🐶

My birthday month and for the first time in my life I was excited to get back home to you guys - My DGS Pack, after a break away with my family who you all know by now. My PA Katie and My Little Assistant Avery. So I thankyou all for that especially all of our new April DGS members.

One main thing I do love at the minute is how diverse and unique the different breeds I am getting joining us for my help and assistance. This shows and proves a lot of what I’m trying to create here so thankyou all again!

Our DGS Pack from the Large Dobermans, German Shepherds and the Retrievers to the small Jack Russells, French Bull Dogs and of course the Spaniels plus many, many more!

You and Me are the same. We are DGS 💙🩷🐶
