Sometimes, the biggest progress comes in the quietest moments.

Training isn’t always flashy. It’s not always about perfect sits or sharp turns. Sometimes, it’s about patience. Trust. Tiny shifts in emotion. It’s about learning each other’s language—and meeting in the middle with kindness.

This little snippet is just that. A reminder that progress looks different for every dog. And that’s okay.

Let’s keep showing up for our dogs in a way that makes them feel safe, seen, and supported. That’s where the magic really happens.

Chase the Detective: Case One – The Missing Dylan

We headed out for an evening of mantrailing with Found It Scent & Trail , run by the fantastic Karolina 🕵️‍♀️. Chase ( Barry 's Aussie Shepherd and resident overachiever) joined us for his first-ever trail 🐾. Dylan—daycare assistant, mate, and enthusiastic missing person—came along to be repeatedly found and mildly judged 😂.

Despite the warm weather early on ☀️, Chase handled it like a pro. Junctions? Nailed ✅. Scent puzzles? Solved 🧩. At one point we were convinced he was three steps ahead of all of us, just politely pretending we were involved.

As the temperature dropped 🌡️, the shift in his trailing was incredible. Just like Karolina explained, the cooler air changed everything—sharper trails and a very smug Chase 🐶.

For a first-timer, he made it look suspiciously easy. We’re now considering whether he's secretly been reading scent theory textbooks when no one’s watching 📚.

Dylan, bless him, was found multiple times. Slightly more dishevelled each run.

What. A. Week.
First week back after my jollies and it’s been full on — daycare training, 1-2-1s, new clients, mantrailing… what hasn’t been happening?! 🐾💪

But let’s have a little word about something important…

If your dog is in training with me — especially through daycare training — please make sure you’re reading the homework and responding to the questions I ask. 📝

I know life gets busy, but this bit really matters. The training doesn’t stop when our session ends. Your feedback, your reflections, your updates — that’s what helps me shape the next steps for your dog. 🧠🐶

Daycare training is unique because you’re not physically there. So that back-and-forth we have through homework? That is your part in the process. ✨

When you stay engaged, your dog gets the very best from it. So please — read the notes, take it in, and keep me in the loop. You’re half the team, and your pup deserves us working together. ❤️
