We always try our best to accommodate our patients wherever possible. When Daisy came in for a recheck with vet Andrew, she decided she wanted to stay in the waiting area. To help keep Daisy’s stress to a minimum, Andrew decided to check her over from the comfort of the reception bench (where she seemed quite relaxed!) Well done Daisy for being so brave!🐶

Ted and Harley popped in for their weight check, so we can dispense the correct flea & worm treatment 🐾✨ One of the many perks of being in our VIP Club, means their treatment is included with no extra cost!

Percy popped in to see the vet today as he is suffering from occasional pain in his leg, but that didn’t stop him from smiling🥰 He was prescribed some anti-inflammatory pain relief to help him feel more comfortable and will be monitored by his pet parents as he improves🐾

Nala visited us after she was having trouble laying eggs. Thanks to her owners, she already had a great set up at home, so the vet just advised on some small husbandry changes to help Nala get back to laying normally☺️

Many exotic pets are extremely good at hiding signs of illness. In the wild, appearing weak can make an animal vulnerable, which means by the time symptoms become obvious at home, they may already be quite unwell.

That’s why preventative care plays such an important role for rabbits, reptiles, birds, guinea pigs and other exotic pets 🩺

Small checks can help spot issues early, including:
- Dental disease in rabbits
- Weight loss in birds
- Heating and UVB setup problems in reptiles
- Diet-related illness in small mammals

Regular health checks also give owners the opportunity to ask questions about:
- Nutrition
- Housing
- Behaviour
- Parasite prevention
- Environment and enrichment

Many of the exotic health problems we see can be improved (or even prevented!) with early advice and monitoring.
