At Hive and Howl, I know that the salon can be a scary place. This is especially true for nervous pups, rescue dogs with unknown pasts or dogs who just feel overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of grooming.
That is why Im introducing our new Paws & Patience Desensitisation Sessions! 🐾Think of these like puppy introductions, but completely tailored for older, anxious or rescue dogs who need a little extra time and care. 💛✨

What is a Desensitisation Session?These are dedicated 30 minute visits designed purely to build confidence. There is no grooming involved. Instead, we focus entirely on positive reinforcement and familiarisation at your dog's own pace.
During the session, your dog will:
Explore the salon and get to know me in a zero-pressure environment.
Hear and feel the equipment, including gentle exposure to the sounds and vibrations of clippers and dryers.
Visit the bath area to see and hear the running water without the stress of an actual wash.
Try out different brushes and handling techniques to build trust.

My goal is to turn fear into confidence, one small step at a time, making future grooming visits a breeze for your furry friend.

Let’s talk about doggie dental bills! 🐾We all love a good cuddle with our furry best friends, but sometimes that stinky "dog breath" can be a bit much!.

A professional bath and de-shed treatment helps remove loose fur, dirt, dead skin and excess oils that build up in the coat. This not only keeps your dog smelling fresh and feeling comfortable, but it also helps reduce shedding around the home.

Regular grooming for short-haired breeds can also:

Ohhh Molly 🥲 this little girl had a shocking start to life 😢 luckily she has a fab home now and this was her first ever groom in 7 years, she was nervous and unsure about everything but I finally got some cuddles off her when she felt a bit more relaxed ❤️ can't wait to see you again Molly x
