We are beyond proud to announce that StraySafe Rescue is now an officially registered charity!

This milestone means everything to us. It recognises the hard work, dedication, and compassion that goes into saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming vulnerable animals every single day. Becoming a registered charity allows us to grow, be more transparent, and help even more animals in need.

We could not have reached this moment without the incredible support of our volunteers, fosterers, adopters, donors, and supporters; thank you for believing in our mission and standing by us. 💛

This is just the beginning. Together, we will continue to give stray and abandoned animals the safety, care, and love they deserve.

💔 We are in crisis and we need your help – urgently 💔

This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to write.

Every single penny we had has gone on emergency vet care for Topsy and Cinders, a poorly mum and her baby who needed us when no one else could help them. We would never regret helping them… but it has left us completely empty.

We raised some funds for the emergency vet bill, which was originally quoted at £700, but we have exhausted all avenues (the bill was actually £1910).

Our vet bill is now £3,655.30 and if it goes over £4,000 our vets will have no choice but to stop all routine treatment for our cats. That means only emergency care can be provided.

Without payment, our cats will suffer.

We are now forced to close intake and we are facing the heartbreaking reality that without urgent support, we may not be able to continue.

We are not a big rescue. We are just people who refuse to turn our backs on cats who have nowhere else to go. Right now, we are begging, because the cats need you, they need us.

✨ Want to make a difference in 2026? ✨

As we step into a new year, we’re asking our incredible supporters to help us give vulnerable cats the fresh start they deserve 🐾

Although our vet bill had started to come down, it has sadly risen again and is currently sitting at £1,994.10. These costs reflect real cats, real emergencies, and real lives saved, but they also place ongoing pressure on our small rescue.

💛 One of the biggest ways you can help in 2026 is by setting up a monthly donation.
A recurring payment of any amount helps us:
• Plan ahead with confidence
• Clear incoming vet bills
• Say “yes” to more cats in need

Even a few pounds a month truly adds up when we do it together.

Our New Year’s Resolution: building bridges across the rescue community to strengthen our shared mission, working with as many rescues and rescuers as possible.

At StraySafe, we stand alongside all rescues and individuals who are driven by compassion, animal welfare, and doing what is right for those who cannot speak for themselves. 🐾

Rescue work is demanding and deeply emotional. We believe it is at its strongest when rooted in respect, kindness, and collaboration.

We do not support bullying, hostility, or the targeting of others within rescue. Everyone is working under pressure, often in heartbreaking circumstances, and there is space for us all to make a meaningful difference.

By lifting one another up, sharing knowledge, and leading with empathy, we build a stronger, more united rescue community, and that unity ultimately benefits the animals we are here to help. 💛

We understand that emotions can sometimes lead to conflict, but conflict does not save injured, starving, or lost animals. What saves them is cooperation, compassion, and a shared focus on those who need us most, including the animals searching for safety and the owners who need answers and closure when the worst happens.

As the frost settles and the fairy lights twinkle, all of us here at StraySafe want to send a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community.

This year has been quite the journey for our rescue cats. Because of your unwavering support, whether through fostering, volunteering, or donating, we’ve been able to turn “stray” stories into “furever home” stories.

🆘 Urgent Appeal: Our Vet Bill Needs Your Help!

Hello wonderful StraySafe family!

We are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea for help to cover our spiralling veterinary bills. While your kindness has helped us make payments, our total outstanding bill still sits at a challenging £2370.90. Every day, more cats come into our care needing urgent treatment, and this bill keeps rising quicker than we can clear it.

💔 Emergency Intake: A Mother and Her Kittens

Just yesterday (12th December), we've had an emergency intake of a mum and her five babies. Heartbreakingly, the mother has a suspected broken leg and requires immediate medical attention, our doors are supposed to be closed, but we simply could not deny her the help she deserves. All six of these precious lives will need thorough vet check-ups, adding significantly to our financial burden. They simply cannot wait.

We know it's a difficult time of year financially, but the cats don't understand that, and serious cases cannot be put on hold.

We need to balance out this bill urgently to continue our rescue mission. Every single pound truly counts:

• £5 is roughly the price of a coffee, but it could contribute to critical pain relief or initial assessment.
