🌟 Thank You for Your Incredible Support! 🌟

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards our Big Build Project for the brand new meerkat enclosure, launching this Thursday! 🛠️💛

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we’ve already been able to purchase some essential materials – just take a look at the photo to see what your support has helped us achieve! 📸

We’ve now received our wood quote, and it’s going to use all of the donations we’ve raised so far – but it’s a vital next step in bringing the project to life. Even a donation of £2 makes a real difference and will not only help us complete the meerkat build but also support the ongoing regeneration of the zoo for the future. 🌱

A massive thank you as well to some of the local companies who’ve been helping to make this possible:

🐾 Big Build Day This Thursday at Maldon Zoo! 🦺🛠️

We’re thrilled to share that this Thursday is Big Build Day here at Maldon Zoo – and we’ve got some fantastic helping hands joining us! The wonderful team at Sky are kindly donating 12 of their staff for the day to help us with the rebuild of our beloved meerkat enclosure. 🦊💛

Our meerkats are firm favourites with visitors and staff alike, and their new home is going to be bigger, better, and more enriching than ever before. But… we could still use a little more help from our amazing community!

🔹 Are you a groundworks expert who could donate a day of your time to help us bring this build to life?

🐾 A Huge Thank You – But Our Meerkats Still Need Your Help 🐾

To everyone who has supported our GoFundMe Campaign so far – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness and generosity are already making a real difference, and we’re thrilled to share that next week we begin work to extend our farm area by 50% – all thanks to the incredible support from our amazing zoo community. 🐐🐖🐇

But today, we’re reaching out again – because our meerkat enclosure is in desperate need of an upgrade. Unfortunately, we’ve had to close off half of the enclosure as a safety precaution for our beloved mob. These charismatic little creatures bring joy to so many – and right now, they urgently need your help.

We’re trialling a brand-new Animal Talk Time Schedule to make your visit even more memorable! 🐾🦎🐒

Our dedicated keepers will be sharing fascinating facts, behind-the-scenes insights, and answering your questions during these special daily talks. Whether you're curious about meerkats, reptiles, or our farmyard favourites, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

📅 The full schedule will officially launch at the start of the summer holidays, but you might catch a few early sessions during your next visit as we trial the new timings.

👉 Please refer to the Animal Talk Schedule displayed around the zoo or ask a member of staff for today’s times.

Just watched the first episode of Jimmy's Farm & Wildlife Park on Channel 4. Absolutely inspirational place and there story (admittedly much larger than ours) resonates with us.

If you haven’t visited them it’s lovely day out but tv programme also great watch.

🐾 Maldon Promenade Zoo is at a turning point. We’ve battled through the COVID pandemic, survived Jungle James’ life-changing accident, and endured the heartbreak of a devastating fire that took the lives of some of our beloved animals. 💔

🌞🐷 Doris is Living Her Best Life! 🐷🌞

With this hot weather, there’s nothing better than a lovely splash in some nice cool water – just ask Doris, our beautiful pig! 💦

Our amazing team of zookeepers are working hard behind the scenes to make sure all our animals stay cool and comfortable. Whether it’s paddling pools, ice packs, shady spots, or tasty frozen treats, there’s always something refreshing to help beat the heat! ❄️🍉🍦
