Reasons we love being your Groomer 🐶 🐾

On my way to tell them what I really think about matting and why it’s more serious than you think..

Why matting is serious 🐾

* Causes pain by pulling on the skin.
* Can lead to sores, hot spots, and infections.
* Restricts movement and causes discomfort.
* Traps dirt, moisture, urine, and faeces.
* Can hide wounds, lumps, and parasites.

How to prevent it ✨

* Brush regularly and thoroughly.
* Check behind ears, armpits, legs, and under collars.
* Keep up with professional grooming appointments.
* Dry the coat properly after bathing or swimming.

“A little trim” often involves much more than people expect, mat removal, coat correction, drying, shaping, and finishing.

Clear communication matters, not just for expectations but for your dog’s wellbeing. Understanding what your dog’s coat truly needs helps us make the right decisions together.

Be honest… have you ever asked for “just a little trim”?😜

One thing I really wish every dog owner understood before booking a grooming appointment is that a groomer isn’t just there to make your dog look nice.
While your dog is with us, we’re responsible for their safety, their comfort, and their overall wellbeing, often in an environment that’s unfamiliar and full of new sounds, smells, and sensations.

That’s why the way a groom is carried out matters so much.

A groomer who prioritises welfare will adapt the groom to the dog, take breaks when needed, and put comfort ahead of rushing for a finish.

Choosing a groomer you trust, and who genuinely puts your dog first, can completely change how your dog feels about grooming long-term.

It’s not just about the result at the end.

It’s about the experience your dog has getting there

If this surprised you, comment “wow”.

A dog’s coat tells a story long before I ever pick up scissors. It shows me how often they’re brushed, how frequently they’re groomed, and sometimes even how they’re feeling physically.

Dry coat, matting, or thinning areas aren’t just cosmetic issues, they’re signs something needs adjusting. That might be grooming frequency, home care, or product choice.

This is why professional advice matters. Not every dog needs the same trim, and what works for one coat type can damage another long-term.

Comment 🐾 if you’ve ever wondered what your dog’s coat actually needs.

One of the biggest misunderstandings I see is labelling dogs as “naughty” during grooming. In reality, most dogs aren’t being difficult, they’re overwhelmed, unsure, or trying to communicate discomfort.

Grooming is a lot for a dog. New sounds. New sensations. Being handled in ways they don’t experience at home. That’s why calm handling, patience, and reading body language matter more than speed.

When dogs feel safe, everything changes, their behaviour, their confidence, and their overall experience.

A professional groom isn’t just a bath. It’s a full skin and coat treatment designed to last.. Here’s what you might not know about your dog groom..

We use pH-balanced, salon-quality products chosen specifically for your dog’s coat and skin type.
Every dog is bathed twice:

The first wash removes dirt, build-up and excess oils.
The second wash properly cleanses the skin.
Then we condition.

Our high-velocity dryers remove trapped moisture, loose coat and excess oils from deep within the coat.. something that’s very difficult to achieve at home.

That’s why it stays fresher for longer. That’s why it doesn’t re-matt as quickly. And that’s why it lasts 🐶✨

If your dog’s coat is feeling heavy, knotty or just needs a proper refresh, we’ve got you.
