🚨 Big news for the future of bovine TB control in England! 🚨

The first major refresh of the TB eradication strategy in over a decade has been announced, with a clear ambition to achieve Official TB-Free Status for England by 2038.

The new approach focuses on greater collaboration between farmers, vets, government, APHA and industry bodies, recognising that tackling TB requires everyone working together.

Key developments include:

✅ Cattle vaccination to be introduced by 2030, alongside the new DIVA (Detect Infected among Vaccinated Animals) skin test
✅ Expansion of badger vaccination programmes
✅ Development of a deer (and other wildlife) surveillance plans
✅ Enhanced cattle testing, including wider use of the interferon-gamma blood test
✅ More sensitive movement testing
✅ Better access to TB data to help farmers make informed purchasing decisions

This represents a significant shift towards a more collaborative and science-led approach to TB eradication.
