Cold nights are here, so it's a good week to check your dog's kennel is properly insulated. Four things from our guide that make the biggest difference:
1. Raise it off the ground on a pallet or bricks so cold and damp can't seep up.
2. Line the walls, roof and floor with rigid foam boards, then cover them with plywood or plastic so nothing gets chewed. Skip loose fibreglass.
3. Fit a heavy-duty plastic flap over the doorway to keep the wind out.
4. Add plenty of bedding and change it often to stop mould and damp.
One rule: never use household heaters or open flames inside a kennel.
