CELT

4 year old Celt is in for backing and had his first proper sit with tack on and had a walk around with a jockey on. His first ridden session kept short and sweet to not overwhelm him. He just keeps impressing me with how he takes everything in his stride! However it’s also down to all the prep and groundwork that’s done to build up to this moment.

Up and down off the mounting block, practicing a leg up, swinging a leg on and off not to mention hours and hours of long reining and desensitisation to make it the least stressful thing. Like a duck to water!

Special mention to my pro jockey and amazing little sister for all her help with the little ponies 🥰

I’ve been so busy with horses for breaking/handling/hacking I completely forgot about this page 🤣🙈

Here we have breaker Cloud who has been with me just over a week and already had so much groundwork put in to him testament to his owners, he’s been nothing but a pleasure. Having been on the long reins for a week, he had his first sit yesterday and first 5 minute ride in walk today and as expected was a little superstar.

However this doesn’t mean the long reining will stop, as I want him nice and confident walking out by himself. Long reining is so beneficial for so many reasons and is a step so many people don’t do for long enough.

Watch this space for lots more updates on current horses. I still have some availability for breaking/handling so pop me a message and get booked in 🐴🐴🐴

Who remembers the post I made a few months back about the yearling filly tinker, she had just graduated headcollar school and could finally be caught. Well she now follows me like a dog and comes to call in the field, has her hooves done by the farrier, stands to be rugged, groomed and can be lead anywhere by anyone!

To think once this filly would attack me out of fear and now falls asleep in my arms is something so special

Little Gus has definitely stolen the show though, the sweetest little pup.
After some scary cows in the field we walk in he came with me to check on my horses and meet yard dog Henry and it’s safe to say he throughly enjoyed himself 🥰

Ariana is coming on brilliantly in her ridden work ❤️

Ari was one of the three horses I had over from France and was broken and had some basics done before coming to me. She is now happily hacking out, confidently taking the lead which is something I've really had to work on as she was so used to her stable mate Bizzie leading the way.

Now Ari is confidently hacking out in walk and trot and soon to try a canter once we have a nice forward going trot with her happily taking up contact and no longer backing away from the bit.

Her owner is very happy with her progress as am I.

Once we have built up fitness and a little more weight gain we will start with some schooling work ready for next show season 🏆

Who remembers Jasper (sonic) ???
After selling him to the most amazing home getting updates like this makes the job so rewarding!

His new owner Erin has put in a lot of hard work with Jasper earning his trust and it has definitely paid off, just look at him go! Erin is only young however her talent with horses just shows after how well she’s got him going, so pleased I found somebody to bring out the potential in him 🥰
