🎆Firework Season is Coming 🎆

With Bonfire Night just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start preparing your pets for fireworks. Loud noises can be very stressful for many animals, but we’re here to help.

💊 Medications and calming aids are available to help pets cope better during firework season.
👉 Please order these in advance to make sure you’re ready.

If your pet hasn’t had medication for fireworks before, or hasn’t been seen by one of our vets recently, they’ll need to book a consultation before we can prescribe anything.

Give us a call on 01506 376752 to discuss the best option for your pet 🐶🐱🐾

🐾 🌈Found Cat 🌈🐾

A kind member of the public has sadly brought in a black and white female cat today, who was found deceased on the Seafield–Blackburn road.

She was microchipped but unfortunately not registered.

If you think she may belong to you, please contact The Pet Hospital on 01506 37652

🌟New at The Pet Hospital — Monthly Mobile CT Scans! 🌟

We’re excited to announce that thanks to Burgess Diagnostics Limited, we now have mobile CT scanning available at our practice every month! 🐾

What is a CT scan?
A CT (Computed Tomography) scan uses advanced X-ray technology to create detailed 3D images of your pet’s internal structures. It’s quick, painless, and done under sedation or general anaesthetic to keep your pet comfortable.

What can it help with?
🔹 Bone, joint & spinal problems
🔹 Brain & nervous system conditions
🔹 Nasal, ear & dental disease
🔹 Tumour detection & internal organ assessment

CT scans give our vets a much clearer picture than standard X-rays, helping us diagnose issues faster and plan the best treatment.

If you’d like to know more or discuss if a CT scan is right for your pet, just give us a call to book an appointment.

Exciting news 🌟Daisy, the Pomeranian had an ultrasound scan here at The Pet Hospital, and she’s expecting a couple of babies! 🐾

Ultrasound scans are a safe and non-invasive way to confirm pregnancy and check on the health and development of the puppies. We recommend scanning from around 4 weeks after the last mating. It can help give peace of mind, estimate litter size, and ensure everything is progressing as it should.

If you’d like to arrange a pregnancy scan for your pet, please just give us a call and we will be happy to help!

A huge thank you to the The Pet Hospital - Livingston for their fantastic care of my boy Henry last night. Henry had managed to eat a fabric eye mask & wasn’t his usual self. After taking him in, they quickly acted to put him under to investigate and then remove the eye mask as it was causing a blockage. It was a really worrying time but the vets were absolutely brilliant, caring & compassionate. Henry is back at home and none the wiser.

I’d recommend the pet hospital to anyone staying in the West Lothian area. Their customer service is great. They also operate their own out of hours emergency vet service, which very little other vets provide in the area 🩵
