Gorgeous Joyce came for her first ultrasonic teeth & gum health session today. Consultation, assessment & getting her used to the tools & techniques.
I managed to clear both upper incisers & the bottom part of both top fangs.
Her gums are a little red & inflamed, so this will pe*****te them to kill off any bad bacteria. She's coming twice a week to get her mouth back in good shape, then onto maintenance sessions... 💚

UPDATE:
Iris is now with the perfect couple for her...
Lots of tears from me & Mum, it was so emotional letting her go. We looked at every option possible to work out how I could keep her, but I couldn't manage it long term as things stand 😢

Believe me, she's an absolutely cracking girl.
House trained, good manners, especially round food, she learned house rules quickly, doesn't bark, she's incredibly affectionate, very trusting, not jealous, Social butterfly, not phased by visitors or loud noises, she's looking healthier every day, vet care is covered -
Someone's in for a real treat.
She's very calm & chilled, but hasn't been dog/cat/pet tested yet though.

It's important that puppies are gently introduced to & are comfortable in the salon BEFORE they hit their 'Terrible Teens' (Even short/smooth coats)
This is when all energy leaves Learning mode & goes into Growth mode, with all the same hormone overloads that we get.
Pushing them too hard into new things in this stage can tip them over the edge & cause them deep rooted grooming triggers 😥

I apply this technique too, I'm a Holistic Groomer.
I don't just look at their skin & fur, I work with their energy, emotions & trust building.
I engage their senses with breed specific games to switch them from Anxious to Purpose, so they are more open to continue the groom.
Yes I do lots more training than your average groomer, but only after I've addressed the mental & energetic aspects.
I work at the dogs pace & use Permission Techniques, so they have some sense of control in uncomfortable situations...
You need to look behind the unwanted behaviours & see what's causing them, treating the 'Whole', body, mind & soul of both them and their generations deep 'Breed Drivers' ... Xx
