💔 From Broken Bones to Unbreakable Bonds 💔
When Maisey was found by Laura at Sadie’s Sadies Dog Rescue she'd just been hit by a car. Her front left leg —both the radius and ulna broken—and plated in Romania. She should’ve been terrified, but even then, Maisey showed extraordinary calm.
As time passed, it became clear she needed much more: physio, hydrotherapy, an orthopaedic surgeon. That’s when our paths crossed… and my heart found its missing piece. I became her forever foster, and soon after, we learned she also had an E-coli bone infection—an agonising condition most humans would scream through. But Maisey? She just got on with it. She let the vets handle her, X-ray her, examine her—all while fully awake. She never flinched.
Recently, I was hospitalised with acute septic arthritis in my right knee. For a month it went undiagnosed. The pain was unbearable. I cried, I screamed, I couldn’t walk, bend my leg, or climb the stairs. It’s left me with lasting damage. I’m now doing physio, and the toll on my body—and my spirit—has been heavy. My muscles have wasted, my confidence has dipped, and the smallest everyday movements feel like mountains.
But then… I look at Maisey.
She lives every day with a limp, a shortened carpus, limited mobility—and not an ounce of self-pity. She plays, she cuddles, she runs in her own quirky way, she comforts. She doesn’t let it stop her. And now, just as I stood by her through every rehab session, she lies next to me through mine—calm, present, and full of love. Holding me when I need to cry.
Maisey, you’ve inspired me since the day we met. That’s why I started Maisey Daisey Ltd—a little business with a big heart, named after the dog who changed my life. Every product, every order, every bit of profit we donate to rescue—it’s all because of you.
People say dogs come into our lives when we need them most. Maisey didn’t just walk into mine. She limped in, broken and brave, and gave me strength I never knew I had. She is my reminder that healing is not always about being whole—it’s about moving forward with love, regardless of the scars.
Thank you, Maisey. For everything. 💞
