We lost our beautiful big boy yesterday… and it’s broken us 💔

So many of you will remember Gilly from the videos with Maisey Daisey… our gentle giant, our shadow, our boy.

Gilbert didn’t just come into rescue… he found his way straight into our hearts and never left. He made himself part of us, quietly, completely… and now there’s just this huge space where he should be.

It hurts. It really hurts.

Gilly was the reason we went to the rescue every single week. We made sure he had his beds, his food… because if he’d been at home with us, that’s exactly what we would have done anyway. He was ours in every way that mattered.

And just because he’s gone, that doesn’t stop.

We’ll keep providing his food. We’ll keep showing up. We’ll keep going… for him. Because I know Gilly… and I know he’d want us to help another dog in his place.

Donna Steele, Dave and Magda were his whole world. They loved him every single day, never missed a moment, never held back. He may have been a sanctuary dog… but he was someone’s everything. He was our everything too.

Six hearts that loved him. Six hearts now completely broken.

We will miss you forever, Gilly… forever 💔🐾
