BRIDLE AND BIT FITTING CLINIC

We are excited to be able to offer another clinic this year with bridle and bit fitting expert, Ruth Fisher
Ruth will be offering her expertise to help you find the perfect bit and bridle for your horse. The session will be around 1.5hrs and will be part ridden and part Ruth assessing your horse and your current tack.

“Firstly I'm an independent bit and bridle fitter. That means I don't sell anything or make any money from what I suggest for your horse. I carry a large range of brands of bits, including Shires, Korsteel, Horsemanship Saddlery, Neue Schule and Sprenger as well as many others. I have bits I suggest that start at around £19, expensive does not mean best! Sadly some horses do choose the expensive ones though! I will look at any set up you already have and sometimes we just need to tweak things.
An appointment starts in the stable with the horse untacked. I assess the horses oral and head anatomy as well as taking notes on history and any issues you are having. I then see the horse tacked up in your own set up. Please make sure you have all your bits and bridles ready for me to look at for you.
After that I see you ride your horse before making and suggesting changes so you can ride the horse in the new bit and feel for yourselves how they can help. I leave you with all details of sizes and where to buy anything I recommend. There is no pressure to buy anything after my visit but people do as they've felt how much it can help their horses! Education and understanding are key to helping all of our horses and I hope I can help a little with that! Maybe you are having issues you feel are bit and bridle related, maybe you would just like to check all is as good as it can be, like you might a saddle fit check. Bit and bridle fit affect the whole horse, which is something you will learn and feel how in an appointment. There is no magic bit or bridle. Often there's other reasons your horse may be struggling, saddle fit, training, pain for instance. I hope to help at least eliminate one area!”
Prices have been frozen and are the same as last year. The cost of your session will be £100 and includes arena hire. We have very limited spaces for this clinic so early booking is recommended.
