It's not about the Facebook posts “jumping after only being backed a week” it's not about the rosettes... it's about doing the job properly and giving every horse the respect and patience they deserve.
Our lovely pony Puzzle is the perfect example of what producing performance ponies is really about - listening. She's a young pony, and rather than rushing her, we've taken every cue she's given us. When she said she needed a break, she got one. When she was ready to move forward, we brought her carefully back into work, taking one step at a time and constantly checking her signals.
Now she's looking fantastic - fresh, confident, and ready to restart her journey as a competition pony again.
Puzzle was given the whole of last season out at grass to digest what education she’d been given and mature further. The proof is in these pudding with these ponies!
All the hours initially put into Puzzle by both children and adults on board are all shining through in this fantastic mare because it was done properly the first time 🫶
