With the summer bank holiday weekend just around the corner, we're reminding dog owners about the dangers of leaving your pet in a hot car 🚗

Leaving your dog in a hot car for even a few minutes can have deadly consequences. It's not just hot cars that owners need to be aware of, your dog can also develop life-threatening heatstroke on a hot walk - both require first-aid and emergency veterinary treatment.

If you are taking your dog out in the car, make sure the car is well ventilated throughout with a continuous supply of cool air, that they have access to fresh water, shade, and ways to stay cool like a cooling mat. Never leave them unattended.

Remember: Flat-faced, fluffy, overweight, young, senior, long-haired, and giant breeds are more at risk of developing heatstroke! ⚠️
