🐴 A summer of magical days on the Berwickshire coast — Pony Days are back at Eat Sleep Ride
Your child as a pony's person for a day. Riding, grooming, caring for the herd, learning the ways of horses from the ground up. Every child takes home a rosette. 🏆

Choose your session:
☀️ Half Day · £50 — 10.30am to 1.30pm (one ride)
🌞 Full Day · £65 — 10.30am to 3.30pm (two rides + liberty work)
Cost shouldn't be a barrier — subsidised places available, just ask us when you book.

📅 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through the summer holidays
📍 Quarry Farm, Lamberton (just up the coast from Berwick)

What a half-term week. Three Pony Days back-to-back. Liberty work, riding, time with the rescued herd. Children we hadn't met before, families who came back two and three days running. That's what we're here for.
Real connections. Real growth. Real impact — one pony, one kid, one moment at a time. 🐴

Some wonderful news to share 🐴

We're thrilled to announce that Eat Sleep Ride has been awarded a grant from the Pets Foundation — and we couldn't be more grateful.

This funding goes straight to the heart of what we do: caring for our rescued horses. It helps cover the rising costs of veterinary care, farriery, hay and feed that keep our herd healthy, safe and thriving as they rehabilitate here at Quarry Farm.

Every one of our horses arrived needing a second chance — and thanks to supporters like the Pets Foundation, we can keep giving them exactly that, while they go on to transform the lives of the young people and communities who meet them.

Meet Ishanee 🐴

We're so pleased to welcome Ishanee Podder to the Eat Sleep Ride family. Ishanee is studying for her MSc in Behavioural Science at the University of Glasgow, and she's joining us to help answer a question close to our hearts: how do you take something that so clearly works — our Herd Dynamics leadership model — and prove it works through behavioural science? #

Originally from India, Ishanee is an economist and a dedicated social volunteer, with experience mentoring young people from marginalised backgrounds and carrying out field research in rural communities. Like all of us here, she believes real change happens through genuine connection — with one another, with nature, and with the horses.

Over the coming months she'll be working alongside our herd and our team to build a strong evidence base for Herd Dynamics: leadership rooted in trust, regulation, and relationship rather than hierarchy.

We're featured this week on the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) website ✨

Their Connected Communities case study series has profiled how we use intergenerational volunteering — bringing young people aged 13–18 alongside adult community members, working together with the herd, on the land, in the gardens, and at community events.

In 2025, that was 11 young volunteers and 17 adult community members sharing skills, building relationships, contributing to something real. Many young people have gone on to paid roles, leadership and accredited qualifications through our Youth Leadership and Awards Pathway.

"Our integration is built into how we operate, not bolted on as a reporting requirement."
