Hattie the beautiful German Shepherd, was rescued from the streets of Ireland, where she had been found as a very thin stray dog, it was thought that she had been abandoned after having a litter of puppies, but was still at just a very young age herself.

In October 2016 her forever family walked into the Dogs Trust, where they fell in love with Hattie.

Despite everything that had happened to Hattie she was still so full of life and bouncy, so much so that her family decided to re name her Hattie after their favourite character from the Carry On films โ€˜Hattie Jacquesโ€™!.

Hattie joined the families existing dog Rico and together they lived their best lives for almost 10 years together, with adventures galore ๐Ÿพafter Rico Passed, Hector was welcomed into the family and much loved by Hattie, they shared lots of fun times together too ๐Ÿพ.

Hattie made it to 11yrs and her family are so thankful to have had her in their lives. She was an absolute joy.

Hattie passed away peacefully with us @ Springfield on 10th October 2025.

Rest in Peace Hattie

Tye was a 15yr old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who passed away on 17th September 2025, he leaves behind his loving family and his furry best friend, who is missing him dearly, his family have written a beautiful poem for Tye and I thought it needed to be shared.

"Tye, with a heart so full of love,
A gentle soul, sent from above.
Your caring ways, a constant guide,
A loyal friend, always by my side.

With snuggles and kisses, you showed your care,
A comforting presence, beyond compare.
Your loving nature, a precious gift,
A treasured memory, forever to lift.

Though you're no longer here with me,
Your love and kindness, forever I'll see.
In my heart, your memory stays,
A loving dog, in every way."

Tye's family have a beautiful staffordshire figurine urn for his ashes and a lasting memory of his paw prints in ink.

We are truly honoured that Tye's family chose us for his final journey.

In April 2025 we had a personal visit at Springfield Pet Cremation, from a gentleman who had passed our doors on many occasions, but the time had come for him to speak with us, his beloved companion Alma; 15yrs old was nearing the end of her life and the heartbreaking decision was soon to be made. Alma's health deteriorated and the time had come, using our mobile euthanasia service, on 28th April 2025 Alma passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, we carried out Alma's dignified cremation service and her ashes were respectfully delivered back to her family.

Alma was rescued by Nigel and Ute when she was 2yrs old and prior to this she had had a bad start to life, but went on to give her family the happiest 13 yrs of their lives, Alma would travel to Europe with them and would forever have a current doggy passport for lots of fun road trips abroad.

After Alma's passing, her owners Nigel and Ute wanted to donate Alma's possessions to a place that would need them and this is when they found Wythall Animal Sanctuary,

https://www.facebook.com/wythallanimals

Wythall Animal Sanctuary is a non destruct Sanctuary and have been helping rescue and rehabilitate animals since 1968. They help the animals who need it most by giving them a second chance at a forever home, or where this is not possible due to behavioural or medical reasons, the Sanctuary is their forever home.

So in Alma's name Nigel wants to raise money to help Wythall Animal Sanctuary, to create specialised quiet areas for their dogs that are more sensitive and get easily overwhelmed and stressed with the comings and going's of daily life. By creating these quiet spaces they can give the sensitive souls of the Sanctuary a relaxing haven for them to enjoy the peaceful life they so deserve.

Nigel wanted to help so that other animals don't have to suffer like Alma did early on in life, giving the residents tranquility and help to find their rescue animals good and loving homes.

Nigel decided that he wanted to raise ยฃ5000 to enable the quiet areas to be built, he has created a Justgiving page and is currently sitting at 63% of his target.

Nigel along with his friend John are driving across Europe taking Alma's ashes on her last road trip, visiting many places Alma has been in her lifetime, they are taking the journey in a 1967/1968 registered Peugeot 309, raising the money for Wythall Animal sanctuary and hoping the car will still be going to get them to their end destination, where finally when they arrive in Dusseldorf Alma's ashes will be set free by sprinkling her ashes along the Rhine where she loved to play !! Bless Her.

A truly amazing story and a truly deserving cause.

During our first 3 months of helping bereaved families, we tragically met one family twice within one week, this family sadly lost 2 French Bulldogs just 7 days apart.

Ellie 14yrs old (black patch over eye)
Rosie 7yrs old (black spots)

Ellie was the family dog and was a constant, loyal presence when all of the children were growing up, so much so that when Becci left the family home to make a life for herself, having absolutely adored Ellie and French Bulldogs she decided to have her own, this when Rosie came along, however it soon became know that although they were both French Bulldogs, they defintely had their own very different personalities, Ellie was so laid back and well behaved, which is what Becci thought she would get with Rosie, however Rosie turned out to be the most craziest dog Becci had ever met, she was always up to mischief, one thing thing they both had in common though is they were both loved by everyone and absolutely amazing with young children in the family, even if Rosie did think all the toys were hers.
As a family they were loved so much and they are missed each and every single day, they can never be replaced.
Ellie left behind her chihuahua friend Ruby who still lives in the family home, Ellie also left behind her brokenhearted best friend Rosie, Rosie passed just 7 days after Ellie.

Through this tough time Ruby has been very spoilt by the family and Becci now has a little kitten called Daisy, who hasnโ€™t replaced Rosie but has definitely filled the Rosie shaped emptiness in our home๐Ÿ’•

Ellie passed away on 28th February 2025
Rosie passed away on 6th March 2025

Both Ellie and Rosie's ashes have been scattered in our beautiful meadow at the request of their families, we all think of them whenever we enter the meadow and hope that their spirits are running free together forever.

This handsome boy was aptly named Badger, he was adopted In 2015 from a lurcher and greyhound rescue charity, after Badgers new family lost their previous dog.

Badger wasn't what they were looking for or expecting for their next dog, he was big, male and hairy but it was love at first sight and they knew he had to go home with them.

They were told that Badger was a bit mischievous but he soon settled into their home like he'd always been there.

Badger always went to work with his new mum for the first few years, and the family only took holidays that Badger could go on and be with them, Badgers family had horses and he loved to go away on horse related weekends, he loved camping and all the new ventures that came with their trips.

Badger was a lovely gentle dog despite his size, the family had cats and it was important that they accepted him, he loved children, other dogs and most importantly the cats, they happily cuddled up in bed together and always accompanied Badger on his walks around the woodland next to where the family live.

Badger also loved squeezing into the smallest beds and making his own a mess, his mum would remake his bed a dozen times a day and during lock down he was taught to sing, well howl on command.

Badgers favourite hobby was bunker surfing .....nothing made him more happy than stealing food.....especially the cat food!, but his family say that you could never get mad at him with those eyes that looked straight into your soul.

Badgers family had so much fun with him, they miss him terribly and feel that there will never be another like him.

He was truly very special

This beautiful faithful companion was Lyla, she was 15 years old when her family had to make the heart breaking decision.

Lyla was truly loved by all of her family, they say that she had a great life, she was always around the family horses, able to run and roam free, but was always by their side, Lyla loved nothing more than a car ride and just getting out and about loving life.

Lyla was such a faithful companion she will be truly missed by all of her family.

Lyla passed away on 18th July 2025 @ 10:26hrs.
