We went to Tattersalls Ireland with three on our short list, one came off after vetting, and, having valued both, we bid on the other two.

Saint De Gemix is a fabulous addition to our team. Led up by the wonderful Brenda, he shone all day and is a super mover. His form and performance was strong and he looks as if a summer at grass followed by our pre-training regime will bring out the best in him for the autumn.

Whilst we have a quiet week for racing we will introduce you to some of the staff. There are many many jobs within the racing industry - it's not just about galloping horses and shovelling manure - so we shall go round the various aspects of life in the yard starting with some of our riders.

You know what our normal day at the races looks like but when it comes to Cartmel Racecourse we roll a little differently 😂 If you ever get the chance to go then definitely go! It's a real fun day out and there is Sticky Toffee Pudding galore!

A HUGE shout out to the wonderful cool down staff! They are absolutely brilliant at cooling down the horses with water as soon as they are off the track. This is a really important thing especially on very hot days like yesterday.

Also a shout out to the new chef in the stable lads canteen - it's a real nice change to have proper food being prepared by someone who clearly loves and takes pride in their job. Massive 👍👍👍

Congratulations Old Gold Racing and Killybegs Jet Lady!

The most consistent mare who is still green but always tries and whose owners OGR18, jockey Alan Doyle, and the girl who loves her most, Elliemay have always had faith in. It was quite an eventful novice handicap chase but Killy kept improving and jumped well on the final circuit.
