Managed to get these two gorgeous pups in just before the salon got far too hot🥵

A huge thank you to all of my lovely customers for being so understanding with the appointment rearrangements and last-minute time changes over the last couple of days because of the heat. I really do appreciate your patience and flexibility, it means so much❤️

I’m keeping everything crossed that there won’t be anymore heatwaves for a while, because I don’t think I can cope with another one😂

I have made the decision to close the salon today and tomorrow, and all appointments have now been rearranged.

The salon was already 27°C at 7am this morning, which is absolutely crazy and that’s before the bath and dryers are even switched on.

Please keep your dogs safe in the heat by following some simple steps:
☀️ Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
💧 Make sure fresh water is always available
🌳 Keep them in shaded, cool areas
🚗 Never leave dogs in a vehicle, even for a few minutes
🐾 Check pavements before walks, if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🧊 Use cooling mats, damp towels, or frozen treats to help them stay comfortable

Hugo & Floyd are both finding the heat difficult to deal with, so I couldn’t imagine grooming anyone else’s dog in these temperatures. Your dog’s comfort, safety and wellbeing will always be my priority, which is why I felt closing the salon was the right decision.

A very hot day with the most handsome boys, who all handled the heat so well!☀️🐾

With the temperature in the salon reaching a very hot 32c this afternoon, I have decided to reschedule tomorrow afternoon’s appointments and work only in the morning before the salon gets too warm.
I know appointment changes can be inconvenient, and I do apologise for any disruption caused.

Although the salon is in the shade for 95% of the day, once the dryers are running it quickly becomes uncomfortably hot. This decision isn’t because I want to enjoy the sunshine myself or can’t be bothered to work in the heat, it’s simply because your dogs’ comfort and safety will always be my top priority❤️
Dog grooming is also a very physical job, and spending all day on my feet in such high temperatures isn’t ideal for me either.

🐶 Please help keep your furry friends safe during this hot weather by:
• Making sure they always have access to fresh, cool water.
• Walking them early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower.
• Avoiding hot pavements.
• Providing plenty of shade and cool areas to rest.
• Never leaving dogs in cars, even for a few minutes.

We will all be moaning that it’s freezing before we know it… and honestly, I can’t wait!😍😂

☀️ Hot Weather Update ☀️

The weather forecast for the coming week is showing temperatures of up to 32°C, which means the salon could get quite warm.

The good news is that the salon stays in the shade all day, and I’ll be doing everything I can to keep it cool and ensure your dogs remain as comfortable as possible. I’ll be monitoring the temperature throughout the day, and if it becomes too hot inside the salon, I may need to rearrange some appointments for the wellbeing of your dogs.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you feel your dog may struggle with their groom in the heat. If you’d prefer to reschedule, just send me a message and I’ll be happy to accommodate you with a new appointment as soon as possible.

As much as we all love our dogs looking neat and tidy, no dog has ever become poorly from missing or delaying a groom for a short time. However, heat exhaustion and heatstroke can be extremely dangerous and even life-threatening for dogs, so their health and comfort will always come first.

Just a little update on my diary…

🐾 The remainder of June is fully booked
🐾 July is now fully booked
🐾 August has very very limited availability towards the end of the month
🐾 September is filling up quickly

🎄 And dare I say it… my Christmas diary is now open and appointments are already being booked! (Crazy I know😆)

If you know your dog will be due a groom over the coming months, please get them booked in as soon as possible.
I would highly recommend block booking your appointments to make sure your dog stays on a regular grooming schedule and you don’t miss out on your preferred dates.

Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to squeeze in extra appointments, as it often means working very long days or giving up my days off. Working 1:1 with dogs is incredibly rewarding but also demanding, so having the occasional day to recharge is really important.
