RIP Jeff 💔

Second in command (although at times he liked to think he was first!)
Jeff was the only bird here whose name truly stuck. Hatched almost 10 years ago, he’s seen countless customers come through the gates (a few even got a friendly nip!) and many birds come and go over the years. We never expected him to be the next to leave us… 😥

We believe Jeff may have suffered a stroke or heart attack because of how suddenly everything happened. He unexpectedly lost the use of one leg and his heart was racing. I rushed to get a box and some straw to make him comfortable, but heartbreakingly, he had passed away by the time I returned.

Unfortunately, I may need to refund all rhea egg preorders unless I can find another mature male before the females begin laying again.

If you’ve already ordered eggs and would prefer a refund now, please send me a message and I’ll get it sorted for you. 😞

And if anyone knows of any mature males available in Northern Ireland or Ireland, please drop me a message.

The duck pens...one year on..
