BON ACCORD KA 5.7.25
I would like to thank the society for the invitation to judge at their well organised show, and the exhibitors for allowing me the honour of judging their breeds. I found quality in each of my groups, particularly the Hounds and placing in the final Group was not an easy task. I was delighted to hear later that the winner, Christie’s Cloudside Valentino at Decalleigh had gone on to win Best in Show under Judge Mrs Sutherland. ITALIAN GREYHOUND O (2) 1 Hardie’s Rivertoy Red October at Albalevriero, 6 year old fawn male, pleasing for size, classic long lean head, with dark expressive eye, well set rose ears, elegant neck leading to gently arched backline to low set tail, deep rib with correct tuck up, well turned stifle, moved out with required drive and slight rise to front legs, BOB 2. BPIB. J (1) 1. Swan’s Cygnetsnest Moonlight, I really like this young 13 month bitch, full of quality, just needs to gain in confidence and learn to show off her virtues. She is pleasing for size, from feminine head, well set rose ears, balanced and tapering to muzzle, dark oval eye, well placed shoulders, leading to gently arched topline, well turned stifle. Moves true coming and going, just needs to learn show more purpose, which I hope will come as she gains confidence and matures. Pg (1) 1. Burton’s Ballenbreich Harris JW, two year old brindle male, presents a good outline standing, classic head with well placed rose ears, reachy neck set into well laid shoulders, flowing to firm topline, with ample depth to rib and required tuck up, and good turn of stifle, not as settled on move. Deep well sprung rib and required tuck up. A close call for the BOB, just lost out on the final move around where she appeared to lack the confidence of winner today. 2 Robertson & McVey’s Silvergarth Persius of Kastrach, 4 year old fawn brindle male pleasing for size and balance, long lean head, well set ears, moderate neck flowing into gently rounded topline, Deep rib with ample tuck up and well turned stifle, moved out well. 3. I preferred the better ground clearance of younger kennel mate. 1. Thomson’s Rakefoot Charazard, I liked the type of this 6 year old red & white bitch, sadly not in best bib and tucker to win the class today, being too low to ground in under carriage.
