š GUY FAWKES NIGHT š
While we might enjoy the pretty lights, our four-legged friends might not be quite so impressed!
Fireworks can be really frightening for dogs, cats and other animals, so here are a few wee reminders to help keep them safe tonight and over the weekend:
š¾ Walk earlier in the day ā Avoid walking your dog once fireworks are likely to start when its dark. Keep them on a lead, even in familiar areas.
š” Keep them indoors ā Make sure windows, doors and cat flaps are secure to prevent any frightened escapees.
šŗ Turn up the TV or music ā A bit of background noise can help disguise the bangs outside.
šļø Create a safe space ā Let them settle somewhere cosy and familiar where they feel comfortable.
ā¤ļø Comfort them ā If your dog wants reassurance, give it to them.
š Keep pets away from fireworks ā Never let pets near fireworks, sparklers or used firework debris.
Classic FM are running their Pet Classics on Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November, from 5pmā10pm if you'd like to tune in! It's specially designed to help create a calmer environment for our furry friends š¶
