WE DID IT!

The Elderwood Project has officially been awarded £2,000 in funding through the Groundwork UK Grassroots Grants programme, supported by Postcode Lottery UK players.

(We also play the Postcode Lottery, so did we just fund ourselves...?) 😅

This funding will help us not only continue, but expand:

- Rescuing usable wood from landfill
- Improving our community workshop
- Supporting volunteers
- Collecting reclaimed timber locally
- Preserving practical woodworking and repair skills

For a small grassroots charity like ours, this kind of support means everything.

What started as two people trying to save good wood from being wasted has grown into a real community project with a real future behind it.

Thank you to everyone who has donated wood, shared posts, supported us, encouraged us, or believed in what we’re building.

This is only the beginning.

The forge burns brighter today.

An early o'clock pootle and paddle. I quite like being out at the crack of dawn. Even more peaceful than usual somehow. Even though we rarely see anyone else, the sounds are different. Lovely!
The doggos had a great time sniffing slowly and keeping cool in the stream 🐾❤️

By 'eck! What a scorcher! Team Merry Paws were out early and went paddling. Lovely jubbly!
Charlie was very excited about this and gave Norbs a run for his money, telling us all about it!
Monty Moo is back 🥳 He settled straight in. Completely unphased by Val, and straight in with finding his stone du jour.
Taylor was in his element given the amount of dead frogs about. His fave rollie is frog... his fave cologne- Eau du frog!
Alfie was a very happy boy with plenty of undergrowth to spaniel in and a river the whole way for paddlies!
