🐾💕 Tessa’s Big Day! 💕🐾

Have you ever wondered what happens when you leave your much-loved pet with us for an operation?

The gorgeous Tessa recently spent the day with us for her spay procedure, and we thought we'd share a little behind-the-scenes glimpse of her visit! 🐶

From getting settled in with our lovely nurse Phoebe, to a sleepy pre-med, a smooth recovery and even enjoying some food shortly after her operation, Tessa took it all in her stride!

We know that leaving your pet for surgery can be a worrying experience. At Huntsbridge Vets, we take pride in providing individual care, plenty of reassurance and lots of TLC throughout every patient's stay.
Tessa was an absolute star, and it wasn't long before she was ready to head home for some well-deserved rest and cuddles! ❤️

When we opened Huntsbridge Vets, our vision was simple – to create a genuinely independent veterinary practice where pets and their owners feel valued, where care is personal, and where we have the time to treat every patient as an individual.

🐾 Meet the lovely Bertie – and see if you can spot his clever little gadget! 🐾

Bertie came to see us recently because his diabetes wasn't as well controlled as we would have liked.

To help get things back on track, Rachael fitted Bertie with a clever little glucose-monitoring device, specially designed for pets. 🩺

This amazing piece of technology allowed both Bertie’s owner and Rachael to monitor his blood sugar levels hour by hour, all from the comfort of his own home – without the need for repeated blood samples!

With this valuable information, Rachael was able to fine-tune Bertie’s insulin dose to achieve much better control of his diabetes.

❤️ We're delighted to say that Bertie is now doing brilliantly, with his diabetes really well managed!

It's a wonderful example of how modern veterinary technology, combined with individualised care, can make such a difference to our patients' lives.

💋🐾 Sealed with a kiss! ❤️

The very handsome Rodney came in today for an operation on his tail, but it was something on his face that caught our attention this morning!

We were a little concerned when we spotted a red mark on his cheek… until we realised it was lipstick! 💄🥰

It turns out Rodney’s devoted owner had given him a big goodbye kiss when she dropped him off this morning, leaving behind the sweetest little reminder of just how much he is loved! ❤️

We're delighted to report that Rodney was an absolute model patient and his operation went really well.

We see lots of lovely examples of the special bond between pets and their owners, but this one really did leave its mark! 🥰🐶

Meet Phoebe Rule – BSc (Hons) RVN AFHEA 🩺🐾

We feel incredibly lucky to have Phoebe as part of our team. Since qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2020, she has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working in first opinion practice, multidisciplinary referral centres and at the prestigious Queen's Veterinary School Hospital in Cambridge.

Her experience spans everything from orthopaedics and intensive care to cardiology, theatre nursing and anaesthesia, with a particular passion for anaesthesia and pain management.
Phoebe also loves sharing her knowledge and helping others develop their skills, something she has taken a step further by gaining an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

And it's not just her clinical expertise that makes Phoebe such a valued member of our team. She's compassionate, enthusiastic, great fun to work with and always brings a smile to the practice! 💙

Outside of work, Phoebe enjoys fitness competitions and spending time with her husband Josh and their much-loved rescue Vizsla, Vincent. She's even spent time volunteering with an animal charity in the Caribbean, helping sick and injured pets.

Today, on Veterinary Nurse Appreciation Day, we'd like to celebrate Phoebe and all the wonderful veterinary nurses who make such a difference to the lives of animals and their owners every single day.

The very adorable Rex celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday!🥳🎂

Here he is proudly pictured with his new giraffe🦒 - a birthday present he somehow managed to convince his owner he absolutely needed during a recent visit to Huntsbridge Vets!😂💕

🎉 One month of Huntsbridge Vets! 🐾

It’s hard to believe that it has been one whole month since we opened our doors!

What an incredible first month it has been. We’ve loved welcoming so many familiar faces back through our doors, as well as meeting lots of new ones — both two-legged and four-legged!
Here are just a few of the wonderful pets who have registered with us and been in to see us during our first month. ❤️🐶🐱

We’ve been absolutely delighted by the support we’ve received since opening. Every registration, appointment, kind word, recommendation and friendly hello has meant a huge amount to our whole team.

Most of all, it has been a real privilege to get back to doing what we love — looking after the pets of Huntingdon and the surrounding area and getting to know the people who care for them.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make our first month such a special one.

The title receptionist barely begins to describe everything the role involves.

Sarah is often the first point of contact for a worried owner - the calm and reassuring voice at the end of the phone and the warm, welcoming smile when you arrive at the practice.

Sarah knows when something doesn't sound quite right and when a pet needs to be seen ASAP. She makes sure information and messages reach the right people at the right time - whether that's one of our vets, nurses or another member of the team.

And behind the scenes Sarah helps to keep our diary and booking system running smoothly, helping us make sure the right patients are seen at the right time while keeping the whole practice moving efficiently.

It takes organisation, empathy, patience, good judgement and, very often, the ability to juggle several things at once!

Sarah does all these things - and so much more.

So today we'd simply like to say a huge thank you, Sarah, for everything you do for our clients, their pets and all of us at Huntsbridge Vets. We really couldn't do it without you. 🐾
