I am well, but unfortunately my son and I are ‘stuck’ in Rome, Italy.
My hand bag was stolen on Saturday night and as it had both our passports in it, we were unable to travel home as planned on Sunday 28th!
We really hope that my son’s Emergency travel document is issued today (Wednesday 1st July) to make our re arranged flights home on Thursday 2nd 🤞
As I have had to cancel all my appointments this week, I will need to reschedule those when I get home, so I may not be able to book in any new appointments for a while, please bear with me 💕🐾💕

Meet Tara a 13 months old Labrador looking for pastures new through no fault of her own.
Her life so far has been very uneventful spending most of her time confined in the house with very little exercise and stimulation. Despite this, she is affectionate and good with other dogs. She will benefit from basic training and socialisation which should not be a mountain to climb as she is young and true to her breed, she loves her food and is eager to please.
Tara is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is presently fostered in North London.
For home checking purpose we are ideally looking for prospective adopters to reside within a reasonable distance from her foster home ie junction 25 of the M25, Enfield, Essex or Hertfordshire borders although enquiries from further afield may be considered for the right home.

I don't often post things like this... But kinda felt I need to, with having a few interesting conversations with 'potential customers' over the last few days 🙃.... And I thought it might give a little insight that us self-employed dog groomers have livings to pay for too 😘🐾 ....

So .....

🐾Why does a dog groom cost more than your haircut? 🐾

Ever wonder what actually goes into a groom? Before you look for the “cheapest option,” let’s look at the math on a ... Lets say a £47 groom for reference!

* The Tax Man: After 20% Tax, that £47 is immediately £37.60.
* The Tech: Card machine fees take us down to £36.96.
* The Supplies: High-quality shampoo, conditioner, and “pawfume” bring us to £34.00 (being kind on the numbers here)
* The Time: let’s say average groom takes 2 hours (Ha, we wish!) ... That’s £17/hour—and that’s before paying for electricity, water, and those high-powered dryers!

A reminder - national minimum wage right now is £12.21. I’m talking £17p/h *BEFORE* subtracting utilities and maintenance of equipment.

The Reality Check:

We invest £5,000+ in training and thousands more in equipment. It’s physically demanding work with pets who don’t always want to cooperate.

When you pay a skilled groomer, you’re paying for expertise, safety, and care. And remember: your hairdresser might give you a great blowout, but they probably don’t shave your butt! 🍑✂️
