This year continues taking my goodest boys.
Louis first, then Archie, Oscar and today Bertie.
Bert was with us on Monday, jumped in the car, jumped on the counter, was excited to see me, ran around the field and played with his friends.
Then had an episode in the evening, got diagnosed with brain tumour and today he was gone.
So quickly.
He has been with me 5 days a week for 8 years.
He’s had me in tears when he disappeared so many times to live his best life around the woods for hours on end… but he was the best boy through and through.
So intelligent, so lovely and so friendly.
I will miss you forever my big bestie 💔💔💔

There’s ALWAYS one… (and it’s always Max) 🤦🏻‍♀️🐾🐾

You set off with a nice, clean, respectable dog…
and somehow return with a swamp creature who has zero regrets 😭

Fresh puddles? Straight in.
Mystery mud? Even better.
White fur? Target acquired.

The rest of the group: just trying to have a normal walk
That one dog: “this is my moment”

Honestly… it wouldn’t be a proper walk without them 🤎

Every dog needs this.
Most just haven’t been shown it yet.
It looks simple. Almost too simple.
A dog touches your hand.🤷‍♀️

But this one little skill can change a lot.

For anxious dogs, it gives them something predictable.
Something they understand.
Something that brings them back to you when the world feels all a bit too much.

For reactive dogs, it can become a way out.
A way to shift their focus.
To disengage from that trigger without adding more pressure.

For recall, it builds movement towards you with purpose.
Not just “come back”, but come back and connect with me!

For engagement, it creates a reason to stay with you.
To check in.
To choose you.

It’s small.
But it’s mighty.

🚨 “My dog can’t be around other dogs…” 🚨
…said half my clients before joining us 😅

Welcome to the ✨private field club✨
Where reactive rescue dogs can finally exhale.

Because here’s the thing…

🐾 No surprise dogs appearing out of nowhere
🐾 No “don’t worry he’s friendly!” moments (we’ve all been there 🙃)
🐾 No pressure, no overwhelm, no chaos
🐾 No shouty passers-by and a stressed Inka trying to put everyone on a lead faster than the speed of light! 😩

Just:
Space to run without constantly scanning the horizon;
Carefully matched groups (no mismatched energy chaos squads);
Time to build confidence at THEIR pace;
Proper play, proper decompression, proper dog stuff 🐕

And suddenly…

That “reactive” dog
…is chasing friends 🐕💨
…playing with toys 🎾
…actually enjoying themselves 🥹

Funny what happens when we set dogs up to succeed instead of throwing them into madness, right?

Your dog isn’t “difficult”
They just need the right environment 💚
