🐰 Rabbit Awareness Week 🐰

Rabbit Awareness Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our wonderful long-eared companions and highlight the importance of proper rabbit care ❤️

Rabbits are intelligent, social animals that need plenty of space to exercise, companionship, and the right diet to stay healthy and happy. Did you know that hay should make up around 85–90% of a rabbit’s diet? Good nutrition and regular health checks are essential for preventing common problems such as dental disease and digestive issues.

It’s also important to remember that rabbits should ideally live in bonded pairs or groups, as companionship plays a huge role in their wellbeing.

We're proud of our very own Nalda Ferguson, Branch Coordinator at Orchard House Vets, who will be taking on the Great North Run this September in support of Here4Horses.

Nalda is joining fellow veterinary professionals to raise vital funds for the charity, which works tirelessly to rescue and care for neglected and abandoned horses across County Durham.

One horse in particular, Biggles, has inspired this challenge. Found abandoned as a newborn foal, severely dehydrated and fighting for his life, Biggles was given emergency veterinary care and round-the-clock support from the dedicated team at Here4Horses. Thanks to their commitment and compassion, he's now thriving and preparing to celebrate his first birthday.

Every mile run and every pound raised will help Here4Horses continue their incredible work, giving vulnerable horses a second chance.
