Went out for a surprise photo shoot for Miss Paws to lead and the doggo’s at .paws.studio and she captured this photo of me asking the mascot for a hand touch.

If you’re thinking of a natural photo shoot opportunity for your dogs, and family then I can highly recommend the quality from .paws.studio the photos we have are fantastic.

Can your dog do a hand touch?

Dog owners, how hot is too hot?

Do you know the temperatures?

Please check my poster, for some advice on temperatures for your dog.

It will not harm your dog to skip that mid day walk, and take it out early in the morning where it’s cooler and more shaded.

Let’s not forget that water bowl too!

Water bowls are left down all day, and should be changed frequently so your dog has access to fresh water. Will your ceramic or steel bowls keep this water cold and fresh, or will it go warm and slimey?

Changing this more often during the high temperatures will help your dog regulate its body temperature and keep itself cool.

You can also setup a shaded area out in the garden for your dog, and a cool area inside with a fan circulating the air for your dog to remain cool.

Here is some raw footage, recently of me taking the mascot to a coffee shop.

Did she settle? She did.

Was she behaved? She was.

Did she beg for food? No.

Did I allow everyone to come and fuss her? No I did not.

Not everyone is allowed to say hello to your dog, especially when training. It is important to stand up for your dog and advocate for its needs.

If you’re struggling with teaching your dog to settle when out and about enjoying a quick lunch stop at a cafe or farmshop, or even for an ice cream, then drop me a message, and let’s talk about what you’re doing well, and where we can improve things to help your dog be a better version of themselves to cope in these environments.

My dog has not always settled in coffee shops, bars and restaurants or pubs but the key thing I did was not avoid them, instead I taught my dog how to manage in these environments.
