🐴🚨More important information for riding school clients and visitors 🚨🐴
We have been notified that there is now a case of Equine Influenza locally, as well as horses still testing positive for Equine Herpes Virus at separate locations.
We are therefore taking sensible precautions to help keep our horses safe, and we’d really appreciate your support.
Both these viruses are contagious and spread easily between horses, often via clothing, footwear, and equipment, meaning people can unintentionally carry it between yards.
As many of you visit other stables, ride at different locations, or attend events, we kindly ask that you help us reduce the risk by following these simple steps:
Before visiting us:
Please avoid coming to the yard if you have recently been in contact with horses showing signs of illness.
If you have visited another yard the same day, please change clothes and clean footwear before coming to us.
When at the yard:
Avoid touching horses that are not part of your lesson unless a member of staff says it’s okay.
Please do not bring outside equipment (e.g. grooming kits, saddlecloths) onto the yard.
Clothing & footwear:
Wear clean clothes and boots when attending your lesson.
If possible, have a separate pair of yard boots for use here.
These small steps make a big difference in preventing the spread of infection. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of the team.
Thank you for helping us keep our horses healthy and safe, we really appreciate your cooperation.
