🦄 New Kids on the Block! 🦄

We thought Oreo could use some friends to grow up with so meet Hero (black) and Luca (bay), our newest additions to the CEC family!

Both have joined us from the via the Second Chances Scheme, and we couldn’t be more excited for them to start their journey with us.

Luca is 2 years old and Hero is 1 year old so they’ve still got plenty of growing up to do, but we’re hoping they’ll be the future stars of CEC! 🌟

🚧ROAD CLOSURE🚧

If you are travelling to us between 25th August and 10th October please read the info below:

The road through Checkendon between Payables Farm and the junction at Main Street (Stoke Row), will be closed between 25th August and 10th September.

We have been told the work is being done in sections so not all the road will be closed at once but at the moment we don't know which section will be open on which days.

We therefore advise leaving extra time for your journey or planning an alternative route if you are visiting us during this time.

🌟 Meet Jumba! 🌟

Introducing Jumba, the newest member of our riding school family! 🐴

Jumba came to us all the way from Ireland after we took a bit of a risk and bought him unseen. Luckily, he’s proving to be a safe and sensible ride, and he’s such a lovely boy on the ground too.

At just 6 years old, he’s still learning the ropes, but he’s already been out on plenty of hacks and has even done a few client lessons. We’re super excited about this lovely boys future with us. He’s got real potential, and we think he could be another Joe in the making, so watch this space!

Our BD and unaffiliated Dressage competition on Saturday 4th October has now been rescheduled to Sunday 5th October!

🦡🦌 Shoutout to Oxfordshire Wildlife Rescue! 🦌🦡

Here at Checkendon Equestrian Centre, we’re lucky to share our beautiful grounds not only with our horses but with a whole host of wonderful wildlife.

Every now and then, some of these wild visitors find themselves in a bit of trouble and when they do, we’re incredibly grateful to be able to call on the amazing team at Oxfordshire Wildlife Rescue

They've come to the rescue at least three times now, helping injured animals right here at CEC with care, compassion, and incredible expertise.

As a small, donation-funded charity, their work depends entirely on the kindness and generosity of the public. So today, we want to say a huge THANK YOU and help spread the word!

🐴🏠 Rare livery spaces available! 🏠🐴

We have a couple of full livery spaces available on our BHS approved livery yard located in south Oxfordshire.

What we offer:

• Individual care from our team of qualified and experienced staff
• Access to all our facilities including 5 arenas (2x indoor, 3x outdoor), private woodland for off road riding, XC jumps, horse walker, all year turnout, large airy stables
• Individual or herd turnout, day or night
• Excellent hacking on quiet country lanes and nearby bridleways
• Onsite competitions and clinics
• A network of BHS qualified instructors and staff working towards BHS Stage 3 and above available for schooling and lessons (own instructors also welcome)
• Proximity to other competition and training venues such as Wellington, Cherwell and Chiltern XC
• A friendly and supportive community
• Owners and staff who live on site
