Biosecurity Measures at DDRC
Please note when booking classes via Horse Monkey, horse passport and vaccination information is now required - this applies to both pre-entries and entries on the day.
This is due to an increase in UK wide confirmed equine influenza cases.
We have also been made aware of a confirmed case of equine EHV-4 in a horse who attended our May show.
We are therefore implementing the following biosecurity measures at our shows going forward:
🐴 Complete thorough checks of your equines prior to travelling to DDRC, any symptomatic horses (nasal discharge, coughing, fever etc) must not be brought to the show grounds.
🐴 Horses with confirmed cases of illness at their yards, those in recent contact with confirmed cases, or those who have been to recent events where cases have been confirmed, should not be travelled or brought to the show grounds.
🐴 Ensure your equine’s vaccinations are fully up to date, particularly equine influenza.
🐴 Ensure you are travelling with your horse’s passport and vaccination records, random spot checks will be conducted on show day. Passports must be presented at the show office when booking classes on the day.
Up to date yearly vaccinations are sufficient, new courses must have completed 2 vaccination rounds to be considered sufficiently covered to attend shows.
🐴 Avoid contact between horses where possible on the show grounds, as well as not sharing any equipment and tack etc.
Please ensure you bring sufficient water for your animals on show day and avoid use of the parking field water troughs.
We appreciate your understanding and co-operation, any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We hope this reassures all competitors and spectators attending our shows.
