I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely Bank Holiday heatwave ☀️🐾

While we enjoy the sunshine, please remember that the heat can be extremely dangerous for our dogs and can quickly lead to heat stroke. Keeping them cool and safe is so important during warmer weather.

Here are a few reminders to help keep your pups safe:

• Walk your dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.

• Remember, we wear shoes on hot pavements, but our dogs don’t! Pavements and roads can become hot enough to burn their paws.

• Never leave your dog in a hot car, even for a few minutes.

• Always make sure fresh water is available.

• Flat-faced breeds, larger breeds, overweight dogs, puppies, and young dogs can struggle much more in the heat, so please keep an eye out for signs of heat stroke.

• Cooling mats, cooling vests, and cooling t-shirts can also really help keep your dogs comfortable.
