🐾 Welcome to Home from Home Dog Grooming, Teddy! 🐾

It was Teddy's first visit with us, and after speaking with his owner, we knew from the start that achieving a perfect groom wasn't going to be the goal of the day.

Teddy has been struggling with grooming and hasn't been able to find a groomer for a little while, which meant his coat had become quite matted and uncomfortable. Our priority today was to help him feel safe, comfortable, and to remove as much of the matting as possible without causing him any unnecessary stress.

These types of grooms aren't always easy, and sometimes it's important to put a dog's wellbeing before achieving a picture-perfect finish. 💙

We worked at Teddy's pace, took things slowly, and focused on making the experience as positive as possible for him. While he may not have left with a competition-standard groom, he definitely left the salon looking much tidier, feeling far more comfortable, and with a fresh start for future grooming appointments. ✨

We're looking forward to building Teddy's confidence and helping him learn that grooming doesn't have to be scary.

☀️ Summer de-sheds are in full swing! ☀️

Just look at handsome Leo! 🐾 He came in for a de-shed and it's safe to say he's left feeling much lighter than when he arrived. The amount of undercoat that came out was incredible! 😲

As the weather warms up, many double-coated breeds start to shed their winter coats, and regular de-shedding sessions can make a huge difference to both your dog and your home.

Using the correct professional tools is so important when de-shedding. The right equipment helps remove loose, dead undercoat safely and effectively without damaging the healthy top coat. This allows air to circulate through the coat more easily, helps keep dogs cooler and more comfortable during the warmer months, reduces excess shedding around the house, and promotes overall coat health. ✨

Leo was an absolute superstar and certainly left with a lot less fur than he came in with! ❤️

🐾 Handsome Gus came in for his de-shed 🐾

Gus is one of the biggest dogs we groom here at Home from Home Dog Grooming, but despite his size, he's really just one giant baby! 💙

This beautiful-tempered Doberman can be a little worried by new things and is often scared of just about everything, but once he's settled into the salon and we've started his grooming process, he's good as gold.

To help Gus feel as comfortable as possible, I adapt his groom to suit him. Rather than de-shedding him on the grooming table, I do this part of his groom on the salon floor where he's much more relaxed and confident. Every dog is different, and sometimes a few small adjustments can make all the difference to their grooming experience. ✨

And wow, did Gus have some coat to give today! 😲 The amount of loose hair that came out was incredible.

Regular de-shedding is so important, especially for short-coated breeds like Dobermans. It helps remove dead hair, reduces shedding around the home, keeps the skin and coat healthy, improves air circulation through the coat, and leaves your dog feeling much more comfortable.

As you can see from the photos, Gus also took his reward for being such a brave boy very seriously and carefully selected exactly which treats he wanted today! 🍖😂

Well done, Gus. You may be a big lad, but you'll always be our gentle giant. ❤️

🐾 Bouncy Bailey came in for his regular groom 🐾

Bailey has been coming to me since he was around six months old, and it's been lovely watching him grow into the handsome boy he is today. Now over a year old, he's really starting to settle into his grooming sessions and becoming more comfortable with the whole process. 💙

That said, Bailey still likes to show off his best dance moves on the grooming table! 🕺🐶 He can make it a little tricky to achieve a perfectly polished groom, but that's absolutely okay.

One thing Bailey does absolutely love is cuddles during his bath and drying time. Somehow, he always manages to get me wetter than he gets himself! 😂 But that's fine by me – I'll do whatever it takes to keep him happy, relaxed, and enjoying his grooming experience.

With Bailey, our priority is making sure he has a positive experience and feels safe, comfortable, and confident throughout his appointment. We work at his pace and get done what he allows us to in the time he's happy to give us.

The more positive experiences Bailey has, the more confident he'll become, and his grooms will continue to improve as he learns to relax and trust the process. We're already seeing fantastic progress, and we're so proud of how far he's come! ✨

🐾 Beautiful Honey came in from home today for a pamper session between her regular grooms! 🐾

She enjoyed a lovely wash and blow dry, along with a little face tidy and hygiene trim to keep her looking fresh, clean, and comfortable until her next full groom. ✨

Honey also had her teeth cleaned using our Emmi-Pet ultrasonic toothbrush. 🦷💙
Dental hygiene is so important for our dogs. Regular teeth cleaning can help reduce plaque and tartar build-up, improve bad breath, support healthy gums, and contribute to their overall health and wellbeing. Keeping on top of dental care can help prevent more serious dental issues developing in the future.

🐾 Handsome little Reggie came in for his groom today! 🐾

Reggie had quite a bit of undercoat that needed removing, so we gave him a thorough de-shed to help keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and looking its best. ✨

His mummy mentioned that he can be a little anxious, but we needn’t have worried – he was good as gold from start to finish and took everything in his stride. 💙 Such a lovely boy and an absolute pleasure to groom!

Looking handsome as ever, Reggie left feeling fresh, comfortable, and ready to show off his gorgeous coat. 🐶

Aww such a lovely review, I ❤️ my job 🐾🐾

My puppy had his first big boy groom with Debbie yesterday, from the minute me and my daughter stepped in with Milo we immediately felt like this was the perfect groomers for our boy. We were not not wrong, Debbie instantly interacted with Milo relaxing him as he is a bit of a nervous puppy, we left him there and upon return he was sat there waiting for us looking like the most handsome boy ever 🐾🥰 what an amazing job she done and we will def be back. 🥰 xx

Big handsome Hugo the gentle giant came in today for a much-needed deshed treatment! 🐾✨

Today Hugo enjoyed our Mud Mask Deshed treatment, designed to help loosen and remove all that dead undercoat fur that gets trapped deep in the coat. Deshedding is so important not only for our big fluffy breeds, but also for our short-haired coats too, helping to remove loose fur, promote healthy skin and coat condition, improve airflow through the coat, and keep your dog feeling comfortable and fresh.

Look at all that fur we managed to remove today! 😍 A proper deshed can make such a huge difference. Hugo was an absolute star throughout his pamper session 💙
