Honestly, I’m SO proud of this boy!

Rupert had his very first swimming lesson last week at The Retreat, Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation and they have been absolutely amazing with him. They’re so calm, patient and gentle, and it’s already made such a difference to his confidence in the water. Considering I’ve never ever seen him swim before in his life, he was amazing!

By the end of his first session, he was (almost) properly swimming!

They’ve made this gorgeous little video of him and I couldn’t not share it. It’s so lovely seeing him gain confidence and actually enjoy himself in the water.

I can’t wait to see where the next few sessions take us! And I cannot recommend The Retreat enough, such a fabulous place with equally fabulous staff!

✨ NEW DE-SHED ADD-ON! ✨

If you’ve got a Labrador, Frenchie, Bulldog, Boxer or any other shedding breed… this one could be for you!

I’m now offering the Peanut & Pickle “Shed It Baby!” Mud Mask as an optional add-on to your dog’s de-shed appointment!

This lovely green clay mask helps to gently exfoliate and loosen dead skin and loosen undercoat, making it easier for me to remove the dead coat during the de-shedding process. It also contains lovely conditioning ingredients including mango butter, coconut oil and glycerin, helping to leave the coat feeling soft, conditioned and shiny.

It’s applied while your dog is in the bath, so they really do get a proper little spa treatment! 🫧 The mask is massaged into the coat before being rinsed out, followed by a double shampoo to make sure the coat is lovely and clean.

So, if your dog is due a de-shed and you fancy giving them a little extra pampering, why not add the Shed It Baby! Mud Mask to their appointment? 🐾

🐾 Irene update! 🐾

Just look at this gorgeous girl! Irene the 5 month old Newfoundland has been coming in for regular puppy packages to gently desensitise her to the grooming process and help set her up for success as she grows into a very BIG girl!

Today we’ve been working on getting her comfortable with the ramps in and out of the bath, as well as getting on and off the grooming table. And she is doing so well! As she is growing so fast I realised we need to stop lifting her into the baths now 😂 soon enough I won’t be able to!

Irene is completely calm and happy with bathing, drying, brushing and nail trims, and it’s so lovely to see her confidence growing with every visit.

This is exactly why I love puppy packages! Introducing everything slowly, positively and at their own pace can make such a huge difference to how a puppy feels about grooming as they grow.

Starting early really can set your pup up for a lifetime of happy, stress-free grooming!

Don’t forget to get your pup’s next haircut booked before you leave! Keeping your appointments on a regular schedule helps avoid longer waits, keeps your dog’s coat in great condition, and takes the stress out of trying to find an appointment when they’re overdue.

Massive thank you to The Retreat, Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation, for inviting me along to their Pawistive Connections evening! 🐾

It was fantastic to meet so many other local canine professionals, have a look around their brilliant hydrotherapy facilities, and chat with people who are just as passionate about supporting dogs and their owners.

A huge thank you as well for putting on such a gorgeous spread for everyone - it was a lovely evening from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon! 🐶
