Last year seemed to be the Summer of Fleas, but this year is shaping up to be a real Tick Fest. I'm removing ticks from dogs almost daily at the moment, so it's worth checking your dog regularly.
Look out for large grey, wart-like lumps with a few tiny black legs sticking out, which is the tick having a full on feast on your dog...
If you haven't used one before, I highly recommend a tick remover rather than tweezers. They're inexpensive (usually under £5 on Amazon) and make removing ticks much easier and safer. I'm always happy to show anyone how to use one.
Once you've removed a tick, make sure it's disposed of properly and can't crawl off to bite another animal or you! Lyme disease can be a very serious illness, and ticks are responsible for spreading it, so regularly check your dogs.
I just wish they would Tick Off....!
