Six-year-old Leighton is over the moon to have his best friend Eddie the cat back, after he disappeared from home three months ago.

Indoor cat Eddie escaped through an open window chasing another cat, leaving Leighton and mum Danielle devastated. They searched high and low every day before and after school, and throughout the summer holidays, but there was no sign of him. Then, out of the blue, Danielle got a call from Vets for Pets Wolverhampton; Eddie had been found safe and well, and their contact details found on his microchip.

Danielle said, “The vets called to say Eddie had been found in a nearby garden and brought in to check his microchip, which was such a relief. Leighton was cheering so loudly when we heard the news! Eddie’s now home with his best friend and doing well, although he’s put on a bit of weight during his adventures, so he's now on a diet - much to his displeasure.”

Sirius’ owners Laura and Fern say it’s never too early for Halloween in their house.

They picked up this haunted house cat scratcher from Pets at Home Stoke Festival for their two-year-old cat, Sirius, and he’s already claimed it as his spooky kingdom.

Laura said, “We first saw the haunted house in store and thought it was great, especially being two tiered as you don’t often see that in cat scratchers. Sirius loves it! He hunts his toy mice inside and sits on the top tier, or his 'penthouse’ as he’d call it, making demands to his loyal subjects.”

While caravanning in Pembrey, owner Adam realised they’d forgotten a few essentials, like Freddy’s calming plug-in diffuser and dog shampoo (after lots of beach and pond adventures). So off they went to Pets at Home Llanelli, where Adam says it was paws down the best customer service Freddy’s ever had.

Adam said, “Freddy can be a bit anxious, so the diffuser really helps. The staff were amazing—stroking him, giving belly rubs and treats. I had to drag him away!”

Freddy explored the store, made friends with the “treat lady” behind the till, and even left with a new toy, a giant bone biscuit, and a big smile.

This we’re celebrating the incredible Vets for Pets practices who volunteer their time and skills to care for local wildlife.

Just this year alone, vet Elliot and the team at Vets for Pets Hereford have treated swans, hedgehogs, owls, deer, a puffin, and many more. Working closely with local rescues, they give the veterinary care to injured wildlife which means they can be raised and rehabilitated to be released back into their natural habitats. One recent patient was a juvenile swallow, brought in after its nest collapsed.

Elliot, who owns the practice, said, “It's a privilege to be able to treat all animals, but looking after wild animal casualties can be especially rewarding. We work together as a team and with other local charities and individuals to get them back to the wild. We do our best to keep them wild so they don’t imprint on us during their time in the practice, but you can't help but get attached.”

Watch out! Mischief-maker Clarence has found his gremlin sidekick at Pets at Home Waterlooville.

Owner Lauren nicknamed Clarence ‘gremlin’ on his Instagram page, , so when she spotted this new toy in their local pet care centre, she knew it was meant to be.

Lauren said, “I was in Pets at Home picking up some bits when I saw gremlin and thought 'no way, what are the chances?! Clarence needs this.' He absolutely loves him. It’ll be his first Halloween this year, so I’m sure they’ll get up to some mischief together.”

A big congratulations to eleven-year-old Benji, our Golden Pet of the Month!

Owner Charlotte says that Benji has always acted like a little old man even as a pup. She said, “Benji is literally an old man; he loves to sleep, a slow country walk and a cuddle. He’s my soul dog!”

Benji earned his Golden Pet crown after Charlotte entered our competition via an email we sent at the start of his birthday month. If your cat or dog is over seven and has a birthday coming up, they could win a Pets at Home goody bag and be our next Golden Pet of the Month too! Say hello to little Bear in his big Bertie bear bed from Pets at Home Liverpool Edge Lane. 🐻

Eleven-week-old Bear has only been home a couple of weeks, but owner Jennifer says he’s already taken over their home and their hearts. She said, “As soon as I saw the bed on Pets UK’s Instagram, I knew he needed to have it. I love everything bear themed for him. It’s a lovely bed, so cosy and soft; he loves curling up in a ball inside of it and getting snuggled right in.”

‘Lovable goofball’ Buck needed a little lie down after all the excitement of shopping at Pets at Home Norwich.

Five-month-old Buck visited our pet care centre with owner Libby to pick up a new food bowl. After helping choose some new toys from his favourite spot - dog toy aisle - Buck decided he needed a rest while his owners browsed for rabbit supplies.

Libby said, “Buck is a very loving goofball. Once we’d picked up all of his bits, he lay down whilst we were trying to buy some stuff for our rabbit – clearly not too pleased about leaving his favourite aisle! Buck absolutely loves a trip to Pets at Home. As soon as the doors open, there’s no stopping him from exploring the shop.”
