Buddies Dog Home Boarding

Buddies Dog Home Boarding We offer boarding for small dogs within our family home, fully tailored to your pets' requirements. and our grown up children Donald and Katie.

My name is Pamela Jack and Buddies Dog Home Boarding is situated on a real working sheep farm of several hundred acres, at the foot of the rugged Campsie Fells. Your dog will be able to have extensive lead walks through our livestock fields, as well as off lead supervised playtime in our large country garden. Your dog will have their own overnight accommodation, with a selection of dog beds provid

ed, underfloor heating, a basket full of toys, and even their own television and radio. We use lavender oil diffusers to help calm and soothe worried guests, and of course snuggles and treats ( if allowed!)
I have several years of veterinary nursing experience from before my near three decades of NHS employment as a midwife, so you can be reassured that your dog will get the best care that I can provide. I'm not aiming to be the biggest, or the fanciest dog boarding establishment, just the best. I can offer tailored care for your dog's needs, built around your dog's usual daily routine. Your dog will share our family home with myself, farmer husband Gordon. We also have our own dog Russell Jack the Jack Russell, our cat Minty, and just over the fence are our horse and pony Clyde and Pearl. Buddies Dog Home Boarding is fully insured with Petplan Sanctuary. I hold a Diploma in Canine First Aid. I am licensed with North Lanarkshire Council for dog home boarding (HB/60/23). If you wish your dog to enjoy a stay with us, please contact me to arrange a "meet and greet" at the earliest available opportunity and ensure that you are happy with the facilities provided. I DO NOT accept bookings without ensuring that your dog is compatible with mine for the health and wellbeing of both parties. The earlier you book for a meet and greet the better, as you will then have time to book an alternative if our dogs can't get along and I am unable to accept your booking. Your dog must be-
Fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough
Microchipped
Wearing a collar with an up to to date identification tag with your details to comply with Control of Dogs Order 1992

We look forward to meeting you!

Lottie and Russell enjoyed the sunshine this afternoon in the garden, not that it lasted for very long! A warm balmy breeze was welcome to dry out the grass, which will hopefully be cut soon if it stays dry!
The skies have darkened now and it doesn't look promising, but we had a good walk in the field, at least Lottie and I did while Russell chased a plane passing over, for a small dog with little legs he can cover a fair acreage of ground very quickly! Fortunately he stops at the fences and comes back!

Our day began with a walk in the rain, mild and balmy, but the greyness never lifted and neither Lottie nor Russell has enjoyed their garden playtime quite so much because of the damp grass, I'm sure for Russell it must feel very unpleasant brushing against his wee tummy! The field grass is much shorter with the sheep grazing on it, making it easy for Russell to run about without his legs and tummy getting wet, Lottie of course has no such problems being so tall!
Perhaps I should put some sheep in the garden?!

We were bathed in golden evening sunlight as we took our walk in the field, very welcome after a dreary grey day with bursts of rain! As we ambled across the top of the field Russell found a molehill he hadn't yet tackled, and as Lottie and I took in our surroundings we noticed a cheeky sheep watching us as if to say, " that's a very lanky sheep with that tiny wolf!" After a lengthy appraisal she wandered off down the field, and eventually we returned to the garden so that Lottie and Russell could run around together. Well that didn't last long as someone was walking along the main road having a noisy conversation, to which both the dogs joined in until the wayfarer was long gone!

Heavy overnight rain has left the garden sodden, and the milder temperatures have ensured that the grass is jumping! Russell being short of leg dislikes the longer grass almost as much as the rain, but fortunately the field grass is still short making it a relatively comfortable walk!
The skies were heavy and getting steadily darker above the Campsies as we made our way across the top end of the field, a slightly shorter walk for us due to the placement of the lambs and ewes in the field, but I'm not complaining tonight - it looks like the rain may not be far away!

The sky has been overcast and grey most of the day, but as long as it's not raining it doesn't dampen Lottie and Russell's appetite for playtime, but dull as it was it thankfully stayed dry for them both. The sun came out this evening for us, pale and watery against the dark iron clouds, and as we took our walk around the field Russell took it upon himself to chase after pheasants and crows, relishing the long sprints until they took flight! Lottie on the other hand likes to sniff at every scrap of wool the sheep leave behind, and every feather dropped by the birds, which makes for a very relaxed walk!

Rain and hailstones swept along our valley today, and Lottie and Russell weren't enjoying it! Usually they'll romp about while I'm filling the water buckets or tidying up, but no, today in the heavy rain I was all alone! As the rain started to ease Lottie ventured out briefly, looked at me as if I was mad for being out in the rain, and went straight back indoors, declining to get her paws wet on the sodden grass! As for Russell? He never ventured further than the kitchen door!

From golden sunshine first thing this morning, to grey skies and drizzle this evening! Our walk this evening turned into a rescue mission as one of this little gang of three lambs managed to get itself stuck in the horses' field! As Lottie, Russell and I waited at the top of the field, Katie went to sort out the situation, as Clyde and Pearl were also there, with this tiny lamb at their feet! Before Katie had a chance to reach the gate where they all were, the sneaky lamb had snuck through the fence and was back in the sheep field, running to its mother! Not for long though, it was back with co-conspirators very quickly, scheming as to what they were getting up to next!

As we entered the field this evening, again we found the sheep all further down, with one solitary pigeon strutting around, in total command of his domain. That is, until Russell came through the gate and spied it! That wee pigeon flapped for all its life as Russell sped off behind it, Lottie looking on with tranquil bemusement as she often does when watching Russell's shenanigans! It wasn't long until we caught up with Russell, happy that he'd chased the pigeon away, leaving him content to trundle through the remnants of old molehills, their occupiers now moved on. As we reached the other side of the field, Lottie showed contentment of a different variety, having a good old scratch while waiting for Russell! Such was the depth of enjoyment, Russell ended up having to wait for Lottie!
